there's a 10 minute stream (credit @Sheeple) of the events as they are being recorded and screenshot by someone named "otto". it's surreal to watch things unfold, including their approach, the shootings at the mosque, their escape, and their murder / suicide as "otto" is constantly switching between the stream, the live chat of the stream, and the call that he's on with someone else named "noelle". come discuss if you can figure out what the hell is happening here.

I have conducted an interview with someone from early SplatSource (Splatoon + GMOD/SFM) history, LolAttack, who not only corrected/clarified some information in the OP. but also revealed never before-seen information about Team Downfall (the SplatSource drama group he was heading at the time when he was a teenager), such as:
he shut it down because of serious harassment towards him (including someone making "hate porn" of him)
two adults (one of which was a mother) he brought into Team Downfall, seemingly controlled by a third in the background, were constantly giving him hell to possibly take over his drama group and oust him
