In an act of ultimate Izzat, instead of taking accountability, the university decided to throw the woman interviewed at the AI conference under the bus for the grave sin of doing her job. She has since been fired from the university.

Edit: As you may recall from the early days of Covid, there were many humorous "cures" that came out of India for the Corona Virus such as drinking and eating cow excrements.

NIRF counts raw filings, not grants. so the incentive is to file garbage at scale, not build real IP. this is what happens when you optimize for the scoreboard instead of the game. we’re really good at looking innovative. not as good at being it. fix is simple btw: reimburse at grant stage, not filing stage. tie incentives to commercialization. weight NIRF on grants, not applications. but simple fixes don’t happen when the people gaming the system are also the ones writing the policy. need young + smart policy makers innovation isn’t a form you fill. it’s a product you build.

quick bullet points:
  • UK initiative was a dismissed (no surprise here)
  • EU corpo representative tried to push that "games are living breathing things" and SKG would be suffocating them (as opposed to them shoot them in the head outright), and it will discourage teenager developers making games in their bedroom
  • US enters the the scene where a group of activists were inspired by Europe initiative and apparently already reached DC, though US doesn't have laws supporting such movement its not very optimistic way
  • Poland's goverment was very cooperative and promised "the fairest trial that they can provide"
Ross is overall optimistic so future maybe, just maybe looks bright.

After 6 months Sophia Harrington / Birdie's thread has been unlocked, despite her being inactive.
