Hobbyhorsing, a sport made up mostly of teenage girls and young women in Finland, requires gymnastic control and athleticism to complete jumps over obstacle, all while controlling a horse on a stick.

May 8, 2017, espnW.com; https://archive.is/qfAEO

"The championship was held late last month in Finland, and about 200 participants -- mostly young women -- competed in various events such as show jumping and dressage, all while riding their hobbyhorses"
"The hobbyhorse craze is reportedly exploding in Finland, with more than 10,000 youths involved in the sport."

APR 30, 2017, mashable;

"Hobby-horsing also has a strong element of female empowerment, some riders say. Young girls are building their own scene and setting their own terms, free of strict standards and the scrutiny of official committees. "No boys are coming and saying what we need to do, or bossing around," Alisa Aarniomaki, 20, told the AP. "I think hobby-horsing has a feministic agenda.""

Looks like the Finns could use another Red invasion to get them back on track.

Anyway, if it's just kids then cool, whatever. I hope they're mortified when they get older. If adults start showing up, then it's going to be funny.

i didn't know this was a real thing. when i was about 13-14 i went to horse back riding camp. it was tons of fun because we could ride horses like all fucking day and eat really amazing food. but some of the younger girls were really weird... like really weird. they would do the hobby horsing thing mentioned above like every day. they would fight over who won the race, or who looked the best. they even went as far as eating grain.
the fact that these girls would do this while having access to real live horses, is fucking beyond my comprehension.

That's not just probable. It's pretty much guaranteed.

Mark my words by this time next year we're going to have at least one thread about either a fully bearded immigrant claiming he's 12 suing the competition for everything they're worth for discriminating against his race, or we'll have a thread about an openly 40 year old tranny with a hobby horse that has a fake horse dildo glued to it, claiming discrimination because he's not allowed to ride that hobby horse the way that feels natural to him.

Also for the girls doing this. Horses are too expensive for your average person to casually have one but just, like, make friends with a horse person. They'll let you sit on their horse. They'll even probably let you trot their horse around. You're not going to develop a spirit bond with a horse just cause you paid money for it, it's just going to poop and someone will yell at you if you don't clean up it's poop, you really don't need your own horse.

And you definitely don't need to pretend your fake horse is a real one after you're five years old or so.
