Computer Chairs

If u want a cheap one they tend to break down easily. Spending around 200 or more USD is worth it as arm damage on the cheaper chairs is a pain. If u wanna support your back, I'd say battlebull, but u really cannot go wrong.

I use this with one of those cheap plastic furniture sliders on each leg. Works okay, not as good as casters obviously, but the chair is lightweight enough that I can move it around by throwing my bodyweight. I wanted a goddamn recliner and this was my solution.

It's really low though, so it's not really comfortable for "real" work unless you have an unusually low desk, but I can handle typical computer stuff for a while.

Does "90s office chair" still exist anywhere? Cuz that's all I really need but my current one is, well, from the 90s. Starting to show its age.

At my job there's a couple of "gamer chair" cheap chinese shit edition floating around and it's a nice enough chair I guess, I rarely use the work station it's at so I don't have strong feelings about it.
I'm glorious standing desk master race.

Doesa any one have that vocaroo where that one dude from v does a legendery rant about gaming chairs?

holy fuck. Killer battlestation and killer chair!
I also refuse to sit in office chairs. I work in those, No way will I game in one. Gamer chairs are just shitty neon office chairs (ymmv).

I use a 1980s curbed La-Z-Boy. Creeks like hell, structurally damaged - but no piss and COMFY.

Watch out for shitty 'Gamer' or Chinese office chairs. Don't get an air cylinder blown up your ass.

My back is starting to hurt and so I thought getting a fancy chair might help.

Well, a lot of gaming chairs, especially the 'racing' ones are quite tiny.

So especially if you're overweight - check the measurements first before ordering one. Secret Lab has that problem with their smaller two chairs - even if you're well within their height/weight recommendations, the seat and back cushion itself can dig into your thighs/hips if you're a bit wider.

I'm currently using one from the brand "Hbada". They're comfortable as fuck, look pretty neat, have a variety of models and they're not overpriced. They also made my backpain stop, luckily. You can see/feel that they're not in the 500$ price range, tho. But for a chair <200$? Pretty good value imo.

Aw man, I remember having one of those in a horrible dirty pink color when I was still living with my parents. It was the most comfortable chair I've ever had. Now I'm sad that I never took it with me and forgot all about it until how. : /

I had an old one from the 1970s that eventually the seat fell in on. Repaired it once, but apparently what they sell in stores now ain't what it used to be and the seat fell in again. I switched to my backup 1970s monstrosity and... seat has fallen in again. Motherfucking god damn.

The sad part its I used to regularly see these things at Goodwill and resale shops for literally jack shit but I guess hipsters like them now so they're non-existent. Even if I had to pay $30 for another one of those mangy things I'd have my card out in a heartbeat.

RIP first 1970s office chair.

I need a good computer chair. All my chairs are too small, as in they just go halfway up my back and they aren't that comfortable. I'm pretty sure that's why I have such a shit posture and constant back pain.

I spoiled myself last year and bought a SecretLabs 'Omega' chair. I fall asleep in it often because it's so comfy and I have the recline setting loose so it tilts back easily.

The current "official" advice for ergonomic sitting is whatever you do, change your sitting position often. Move around a little. If you don't want your spine to turn into dust make breaks often, get up and walk around, do some sports. No chair will save you from the fate of pain, nerve and bone damage if you sit unmoving in the same spot for 6+ hours a day.

I like a chair that can tilt back for the occasional lounging.

I'm pretty thin so this advice might not really work for everyone but I find its nice to scrunch my feet up into the chair, almost like the lotus position just with one knee up and against the armrest. I go back and forth between this, sitting normally and putting my feet up on the support under my desk just instnictively and I've never developed any of the dreaded circulation issues despite spending the majority of my time sitting.

I have a cheap one I picked up from OfficeDepot. It's not bad, but it's not great. My wife has a more expensive "gamer chair" and it's more comfortable. They are more comfortable when you sit in them for hours than the bog standard office chairs I had been using for years.
