the concord developers pretty much repeated bleszinski failure.

not even just that. they also repeated the failure that cliffy b loves to ignore. there was no room in the market for lawbreakers. there was DEFINITELY no room in the market 8 years later for concord.

True, it reminds me of some oblivion letplayer who had a very ugly khajiit in oblivion dubbed "autism cat". Such uglyness isn't unexcusable if its played for laughs, if its a stylistic ugly aesthetic (cruelty squad) Or even perhaps if the artist is GENERALLY shit but the game and everything else is ok, but when everything in the trailer was done with a high level of care, its so painfully obvious they are pushing that look intentionally to look like a bunch of pride parade goers

Its actually kinda funny because company pushing absolute goyslop like this naturally fails, while indie stuff like intravenous 2 is gaining traction. In a way, it feels like a whitepill, that even with millions of dollars, these companies are failing.

The game was announced a year and a half ago but they made the mistake of not showing gameplay or its roster of nignogs. No one knew it existed until like three months ago. If they had anything to show at its reveal, there's not a doubt in my mind that it would have gone the Hyenas route but a year later and another hundred million down the drain, I suppose they figured they might as well shit it out and recoup something, in this case a couple thousand bucks. Sucks to suck.

I'd say the feeling is "nothing new under the sun". They are going to stop with this LGBTQ+ shit on this games not because it's bad but because it barely generates clicks anymore, just a handful of videos and people move on.

I am baffled why they didnt put it out as free 2 play at some point. Or better yet they could have gone some sort of early access route with it. Well I assume that would have happened if Sony hadn't shown up with truckloads of cash and bought the studio.

Jim Ryan made so many bad bets on live service and this was just one of them. Remember they still have Fair Games coming.

One of the big features driving Overwatch's success was character design. In fact if these developers were paying attention one of the major lessons they'd have learned from OW's success is just how important stylistic features of a game are in getting casuals in the door, since mechanically OW wasn't even that special. If it wasn't for people really liking the characters and spreading them around it would've never taken off like it did (although I'm sure the rise of e-sports streaming around the time played a significant role).

My belief: In this era if you can't see anyone using your characters as a pfp, making fanart, buying merch, or looking up porn of them, you may as well toss that shit right in the trash.
