Concord - robots with pronouns

my thoughts when watching this live
- where's the gameplay
- it's bootleg guardians of the galaxy?
- where's the gameplay
- where's the gameplay
- cool 3-4 black characters and one token white guy
- where's the gameplay
- oh great it's a hero shooter
- where's the real gameplay
- lead character designer is a jew, imagine my shock
- who is this for
- why would you even play this over overslop or malwarerant
You forgot where's the gameplay.

I've been mulling this over for a while and I don't understand it. It's so bland. It's so perfectly tailored to hit every note of the AAA trash pile. We have the photorealistic graphics, the quirky space crew pulled almost beat for beat from Guardians of the Galaxy, A genre that most people have either written off or already have 'their game'. It's like the 20 seconds of forgettable background footage that was whipped up for a TV show or movie when they need to show a video game. It's almost fascinating in how it has nothing about it that stands out except for the fact that is has nothing that stands out. This isn't vanilla ice cream, this is just chugging vanilla extract.
The character designs and UI is enough for me to be depressed. It looks washed out, completely void of ANY color. Who approved this?

crazy how this video is 6 years old and companies are still trying to cash into these slop shooters as if all they don't all crash and burn within a year.

i did like the idea that they're leaning into making cinematics to explore the IP they made, not so much for this particular universe but i wish some developers would lean into such a thing if they had access to an actual fun cast of characters to explore (like how TF2 lended itself so well to all the SFM shorts it made and how Valve decided to let TF2 die instead of making more of them).

imagine if we lived in the timeline where Battleborn won out against Overwatch and that became the new template for FPS slop shooters

And imagine how it would have turned out, if LawBreakers succeeded and became the said new template for FPS shooters.

I watched a livestream of the beta for this game, and it looks bland and generic as hell, and probably won't even last a year before shutting down. And one of the characters has a kill quote that is almost the same, word-for-word, as Mackay from Battlefield 2042's "I'm not over confident, I'm just better than everyone else" post-game quip.
