This has to be the biggest flop in gaming history since the E.T. game. 2077, NMS, and even fucking TORtanic were never taken down, let alone the fact they were eventually fixed and gained a dedicated playerbase.
 
Wow. That was quick. I expected this to be like suicide squad where there's like hundred people still playing it and Sony/WB are stubbornly still keeping the servers going and funding content for some unknown reason.
 
It was slightly amusing that the initial official feature mentioned E.T. for the Atari 2600 since that game at least was able to sell a million, Concord couldn't even sell 100K and probably won't cause an industry crash yet.

Lawbreakers, but even that lasted long enough to get physical copies printed up by Limited Run. Even though they're completely unplayable now.

Every time CliffyB is brought up, I am required by law to post this comment he made on Something Awful where he shows off how much of a pederast he is:

I hope Deadlock will be a huge success, and everyone will try cashing on another MOBA craze and lose a shit-ton of money.
 
Game looks like shit. Good. Terrible ideological slop.

But I cannot for the life of me understand the business move here. It was an up front purchase? Did someone figure that running the servers would cost more as sales were made? Wouldn't a better move be keep it on the store trickling in some sales and toss out a dedicated server binary? Anything? So many other games stay on life support trickling in sales here or there. There has got to be more to the story.

Like a suit had an axe to grind or a message to send.
 
I'm glad to see this, but no chances Sony does a 180 and stops wokeslop. They'll double down if anything. The culture is not shifting despite what some people think. They'll go to ground and stop talking about it while continuing to shove it down their employee's throats.

Something massive would have to happen for all of this to actually change. Most companies will (if they're smart) go the BG3 route. Woke shit is all there, but its in the background. The agenda gets normalized without causing too much fuss.

It's really difficult for me to pick out whether Sony pours money into this shit by incompetence, malice, both, or simply because it has too much money and doesn't give a shit what happens to it

Tbf, all of those games can't even compare to this disaster of a game. Reportedly, they sold 25k copies. 25k. [Link to the article][A]

This really the biggest disaster in gaming history, and it's not even close.
