Since Concord is no longer a thing, should this board just be kept up for preservation or be renamed to something related to what Concord went thru like many games now do?

That's the part I'm talking about. The 'get woke, go broke' business model is well established by this point, but the gnashing of teeth on social media when this stuff failed seemed a lot more prominent in the past.

Lately it feels like even the wokescolds can't be bothered to defend this trash, maybe because the DEI checks aren't coming through any more.

I'd suggest it could be re-purposed into a general Live Service Graveyard thread if one doesn't exist already.

I think people would be surprised by how many flopped games they forgot about because it happens so frequently, and with Fairgames and Marathon coming up I think we're gonna have plenty more bodies to throw on the pile.

Concord itself might be dead but it's relevant to almost everything concerning the industry at the moment. It's not like this thread was ever used to discuss actually playing the game in any serious capacity and it's not unique in that regard either.
 
Mark my words, some memelord is going to make a Concord dating game for le lulz and Soyny will hit that with a DMCA faster than you can say "400 million dollars down the drain". It will be hilarious.

The lügenpresse is helping this effort too by demonstrating a bizarre focus on trying to both "debunk" the notion that it's a small studio who made a successful game and that it was a low budget effort to boot, but also carrying water for the big industry insisting that "oh there must be more people not being credited, it's dangerous to suggest you can make a good game with so few people and such small budgets!"

You don't hate them enough.

That's all true, but a thread rename might help bring more people in to discuss their favourite failures. I'm still lighting a candle for Battleborn, that game was fun god dammit.
 
Maybe the thread could be reworked as a hall of fame for embarrassing gaas failures or a Launch-to-shutdown (Any%) Speedrun leaderboard. We could even give out annual "biggest flop" Dawards.

So we have a live service hate thread but I think that's not quite what's being proposed. Something like a "AAA rake-stepping megathread" might fit the mold as containment for when a bomb drops.

If the certain amount is your target audience, it‘s pretty easy to predict that the game will fail.

Looked like a fun game.

But the attached narrative was „This game is for REAL MEN. Go play Overwatch if you enjoy Anime.“ - and then the target audience did lol.

This video should get shown to any game studio that thinks they need to do more than making a fun game.
