I do want it bad enough, and I have every intention of working hard.
Prove it. Stop saying "I have every intention of [insert goal here]" and start saying "I am [insert current task here]"

Intent is easy to come by. I could carpet my fucking house with good intentions. If all you have is intent, then you clearly don't want it bad enough.

I have. It's only about 120 pages, far too short to be considered a full blown novel. My rabid perfectionism prevented me from writing scenes the way I wanted to and in their entirety, so I had to summarize.

What do you mean summarize? You mean some chapters aren't even finished?

Summarizing is what you do when you're planning your project. Your first draft should read like a completed novel. The only difference between a first draft and a final draft is the first is still subject to change. There are no summaries in my first draft.

Starting this month, things are going to be different.
And best of luck too you.

How long have you been working on this novel Connor?

Define "results".
Evidence that you have done something.

Define "results".
How about this Connor. How about you actually do something that you say you'll do.

Like actually finish your book instead of complaining about how you have no motivation. Or fix your life instead of complaining about how it's too hard.

Those are results. How about you actually do something you say you're going to do instead of you know... not.

We've heard this same old song and dance a few times now. It's getting old.

I agree with some of what's being said, but I don't have to, y'know, be a ruthless asshole about it. The Alec Baldwin speech in Glengarry Glen Ross was intended to highlight practically everything wrong with unfettered businessmen and the excesses of capitalism in general.

Son do you know where you are?

If you think we're ruthless don't ever try to get your book published. Or do anything for that matter.
