I was wondering if there were any other collectors here. I started collecting systems when people who knew I was a former vidya addict and sold me systems real cheap EG: A mate of mine sold me his mint condition, boxed Mario 3 pack NES for £6. Some on my list I've had since new but I'll start in order of oldest first:

2 x Atari 2600. 1 old wood and plastic model and 1 little black and silver model.
A ZX Speckie 48k
A Nindendo ES.
An Atari 520 STE.
2 x Sega Mega Drive with 1 Power Base converter.
3 x SNES, 2 UK PAL and 1 US NTSC and a Super Wild Card (best invention of the 1990s)
An Amiga A1200
2 x Nintendo 64.
A PS Double.
A GBA SP.
A Gamecube with Gameboy Player.
A DS Lite
A DSI XL
And my PS Triple.

I wish I'd never sold my SMS. I'd like one to add to my collection but as I have a Power Base converter I don't really need one just now. I have a fairly decent game collection for everything but I'm not as serious about it as some of the people on the Retro Gaming forum who like to have every game for a particular console. Personally I go for quality over quantity. I mean who's ever going to go back to Home Alone on the SNES?

So what ya got?

Personally, I own a SNES, an N64, a Gameboy Color, a Gameboy Advance, a PSP, and an Xbox 360. In the house, however, there is also multiple DSes, a Wii, and a PS3 in addition to my consoles. Come to think of it, I'm the one with the most consoles in this house, and I rarely use them.

What I have now I would have killed for when I was 13. I don't use them that much either and I use my PS Triple more for films than gaming these days. Currently hooked up I have my PS Triple, PS Double, N64 and Cube with Gameboy player.

When I bought the PS Triple it was beetween that and the Wii. I always loved Nintendo's systems and the Wiis are the only Nintendo consoles I don't own but when I found out the PS Triple could play MP4s and AVIs I went with that. Can you do anything other than play games with the Wii U?

Eh, owned a Wii, HEX-Box (not 360), GameCube, Game Boy, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo DS Lite, Playstation Portable, and I think that's about it.

Yeah, I'm a poorfag.

Oh, I forgot to mention my brother's PS Double. I also have a Gamecube, but it doesn't work.

The Wii's best feature is its ability to play Gamecube games, IMO. Also the online market. Not a big fan of Wii games that aren't Manhunt 2. My sisters use it the most, and they've used it to the point where it'll spontaneously shut off when playing a Wii game. Which really sucks because I never got to try Skyward Sword, and now I never will.

Between myself and my girlfriend we own:

Mega Drive
PSX
PS2
PS3 (x2)
PSP (x2)
PSVita (x2)
Snes
GBA
GBA SP (x2)
Game Cube (x2)
Wii
DS Lite (x2)
DS
3DS (incoming)
HEX-box360

Between us we probably have almost as many games as Chris.

That's what bugs me about disc based systems. I have a 35 year old Atari that still works fine, I wonder if any of my disc systems will still work when they are that old? When the N64 came out I was really pleased it was cartridge based, the PS Single's load times really annoyed me at that point. I always felt that disc based systems was a step backwards. I used to have the Street Fighter collection for the PS Single and the load times were horrendous, I thought: Fuck this I'll just play it on my SNES.

There's not that many games I want a Wii for but Mario Galaxy on it looks amazing, I've had a brief shot of Mario Wii and I loved it and the Donkey Kong Country game for it looks great too. I have two weeks of work next month and you can pick up Wiis pretty cheap now so I think I might get one for my days off.

If you've not had much experience of it and like older games I'd recommend a Sega Master system or a Power Base Covertor for the Mega Drive to add to your collection. The best Master System games sell on Ebay for a few quid each.

If any of us got our hands on Chris's collection it would probably take a while to separate the wheat from the chaff. He seems to have bought a lot of crap for the PS Triple so that's probably be true for his older systems too.

That's an impressive collection. I'd recommend a Master System, despite it's poor rep in the US it is a great system and you can get it and some of its best games on Ebay real cheap now. Stuff like R Type, the Wonder Boys, California Games, Castle Of Illusion are only a few quid each. I've heard that due to its lack of popularity some games are quite rare in the US but the Master System is not region locked so you can import them in from the European Ebay sites. I've bought a few Master System games from the US because I prefer their English only instruction manuals. The American manuals look better too as they are tall and narrow rather than short and wide like the European manuals.

Nintendo 3DS (Black)

Still need to get a Wonderswan.

I own a PS2 that was released back in 2002, a clear green N64 that came with Donkey Kong 64, a GBA, a PS3, a Gamecube, a PSP that is in bad condition(bad battery, small crack on the screen, back needs a small bit of tape to keep the UMD tray closed.), and a DS that has three or four small touch screen scratch, an NES and a modern derivative of it, and a Sega Genesis. Rarely play any of them though I do play on my DS or PS3 now and then. Used to play the hell out of my PS2 with games like GTA, King's Field, and Metal Gear. If anything, the amount of games I own would be less than a quarter of the games Chris owns.

I'm guessing what you do own is worth playing though. Going by his PSN downloads I'd never take a Chris Chan recommendation seriously. I bet more than half his old game collection is crap. Chris seems like the kind of person who'd buy a game because the cover looked nice. Strider on the Mega Drive has one of the worst covers I've ever seen but is still one of my favourite games. I'd hate to be the kind of person who judges a book by its cover.
