Is it just me, or are the wedding comic and patti comic completely out of place, unrelated to anything else, and serve no purpose to what could be called the main "plot"? Why was there no buildup to either? (e.g. having patti as an already existent but useless dog character, have her die, then be reborn as the anthro version).

What purpose do they serve/why are they even there?

Yeah, but I still don't get the point of the wedding comic. Was Ivy even in the comic before?

For me, about the Wedding comic, I think there are other comics which did similar to this, like the Sonic comics. There's a 4-part series involving 25 years into the future (or is it 30 years? I don't know) which gives less to zero purpose to the plot, but it does give a message: "What would Mobius be like in the future?" They're more like sub-plots.

As for Patti, Chris just lets him to appear in the comic and that's it. Nothing special.

Let us go OLD SKOOL wif dis SHIT!

Well, you see most of the main Sonichu "plot" happens in Earth-S, while (the first half of) all the Sub Episodes happen in Earth-C. The Wedding Comic is an "Imaginary Story" or "What-If" that happens in Earth-W, and can be safely ignored because it is extracanonical and does not impact the Earth-S or Earth-C "plotlines".

Splitting the Sonichu Multiverse this way explains away why !ComicChris goes from being a doofus that is easily beat up by Jerkops....to an omnipotent mary-sue.

Each story works like this.
!Comic-Chris-C is being a doofus, he angers the Jerkops, they go to arrest him.....
and then the scene silently and seamlessly changes to the exact same location in Earth-S.
....where !Comic-Chris-S is fighting evil, mindless zombie Jerkops, easily defeating them with his godlike superpowers.

It was mainly to please Ivy by illustrating what he thinks their future wedding will be like and Patti's functioned as cheap therapy for Chris.

^This. There is no plot arc or continuity in Chris's comics - just a series of vignettes drawn mostly from Chris's daydream fantasy world.

The entire creative process for Sonichu involved Chris just scrawling down whatever happened to pop into his head at that time.

And the only thing capable of firing his imagination was sheer unadulterated anger.

Chris cares not for continuity. I'm not even sure if the sub-episodes are in canon with the regular Sonichu shit or not.
