Ugh, that New Yorker article... "
The Stylish Socialist Who Is Trying to Save YouTube from Alt-Right Domination".
Natalie has like 5-6 videos on the Alt-Right. She has twice as many on "Gender and transness! Teehee!" Why do these articles keep sucking her girldick with this narrative of being the savior of the Left when most of her videos are just basically about herself?
Also, some fun Twitter sperging:
Still getting pushback, I see.
There absolutely should be medical gatekeeping around being trans, DOUBLY so for "nonbinary" people. Twenty years down the line we're going to have a generation of adults who thought they were trans and have now irrevocably fucked up their endocrine system because of irresponsible stuff like this that they read when they were young and impressionable. NB's are even worse, especially ones who think they can be loosy goosy or go halfway with HRT, ala Milo Stewart, who went from being a quirky-but-cute lawn gnome of a girl into a sex-crazed, androgynous goblin with a 13 year old boy's voice. I am a straight cis woman (sooo boring, amiright) and I didn't feel okay about my gender until I was 20; puberty is uncomfortable and weird for everyone, and self loathing in regards to your body is super normal when you're a teenager.
If youtube had been around like this when I was a teen, I very well may have ruined my entire adult life for the sake of having a cool identity label. I think it's completely irresponsible for an adult to be saying shit like this.
Contra's twitter is honestly tragic-funny. Half the tweets are self-reminders that Twitter is toxic, don't tweet, and the other half are either retweets of SJW/librul news issues or Natalie trying to do damage control.
Nyk, you can't get upset at someone for misinterpreting where you stand and rebut it with "it's a fictional character." Either make your videos vlog style and give your honest thoughts and opinions (as you did in Incels for instance), or make it all fictional characters.
Also not helping is that Natalie is constantly changing her characters ad hoc. Justine went from being a reasonable moderate Leftist to a nagging shrew, and Tabby went from being a two-dimensional gag character to a vulnerable transwoman trying to express herself authentically. It makes the videos super jarring and inconsistent, and if people are getting the wrong message, most of that falls on you, Natalie.
Apologies for my :autism:.
