Given the increasing centralisation of the modern web characterised by corporate profit and control, inane censorship and goyslop, I'm wondering if fellow Kiwis can provide less well-known spaces with interesting content for one to peruse. Reddit and Discord have pretty much obliterated the cool hobby forums I used to frequent in the early 2010s, which is a great shame as not only were they highly valuable repositories for information but the audience frequenting these places were more akin to an average normie or Kiwi and less like an insufferable Redditor.

I personally enjoy Lipstick Alley, a discussion forum for black women. While I'm not black I find the women on there far more based than the average internet user and there's very little censorship of content as far as I can see. Sometimes you get tired of libshit garbage. https://www.lipstickalley.com/

One place I should frequent more often are the Bioware Social Network forums. Bioware shut down their official forums so the BSN forums are entirely user-generated. It's just nice to have a place to discuss gaming without resorting to Reddit, ResetEra or anyplace that has been completely pozzed to death. https://bsn.boards.net/

I love the arachnoboards, not only because of the community of hobbyists there, who post pictures frequently that always show on the homepage, but also there’s a subforum for reporting on bites and stings and the medical effects. I refuse to go to reddit despite r/tarantula and r/scorpion being 10+ times more active.

Our Reptile Forum and Reptile Forums for lizard/reptile pet owners. Good for beginners or someone who has owned reptiles for years.

One of the more interesting sites I've come across while online is Squat the Planet, a forum for vagabonds/travelers. For anyone who likes to travel as a hobby, they have some good information, and some very interesting members.

Geekhack one of the original Mechanical keyboard forums easily better than reddit even if its pretty dead now days, it's held its place as being one of the most important backbones with its Interest check and Group buy forums but of course like most things everyone now has a discord for their own projects and stuff so less goes through the forum.

I was curious to know if there were any geekhackers here. :)

Homebrew Talk is pretty chill. Home brewing as a whole is a pretty chill hobby full of friendly weirdos.
