Skitzocow CoolDudeClem

Here we see Clem construct a tube Tesla coil in order to feed his obsession for electrical sparks. A lot of autism made it into this latest video including impressions of his favorite youtubers and a deeper voiced alter-ego.

From about 15:06 onwards he rejects our posts about safety and burning the house down.

"I know what some of you are saying. CoolDudeClem your gonna burn the house down, your gonna kill yourself. Shut up!" - CoolDudeClem

Dammit, does Clement aspire to be a cautionary misadventure? I'm picturing him as a little pile of ash, like Harriet who played with matches in Slovenly Peter.

It almost makes me cry to tell
What foolish CoolDudeClem befell.

Many high-voltage hobbyists affect a macho schtick when, in reality, they are doing dangerous things quite carefully. And it's interesting to note that we're not the only ones expressing concern for Clem's safety - it's mostly the old guys among Clem's fans who are urging him to be more circumspect. Clem assures us he is quite bright, so maybe he'd like to have a bit of a think on why that might be. Nobody wants to see DeadDudeClem.

This so much. It's like when a professor performs a seemingly dangerous experiment in front of a class when in reality extreme care is being exercised and multiple fail safe measures have been implemented. Clem's bad practices would get him fired from pretty much any professional electronics lab.

I will give him credit where it is due though, towards the end of the video he was using an isolation transformer which makes it all a little bit safer, it now requires him to simultaneously touch two points of the circuit to get shocked instead of one and having the mains go to earth through him.

But still he is needlessly putting his life and potentially others at risk. For example, according to a local fire officer a commonly overlooked aspect of many bad designs is the flammability of materials.

Anyway I will stop preaching and wait for the news report.

In which we not only learn what sort of music Clement believes to be "gritty," but also resolve the identity of that mysterious yellow handle thing! It's a dual-beam torch, of a sort that's often featured as the wrong-answer choice in online consumer savviness quizzes:

Test Your Buyer’s IQ: Are You Wasting Money On Crap?

This is oddly delightful. I mean, this product seems designed for people who have an irrational fascination with pointless gadgets - I really can't think of a better spokesperson than Clem.

I actually have sympathy for Clement. to be 35 and living at home is a good thing. Why grow up? It's just something social nonsense. to be 35 and stay at home and collect Bratz is really my taste. I just don't like his taste in music. being 35 and living home safely with the parents does not seem like a problem to me. society is the problem!
That's really impressive Samuel, given how much you hated him. :)

I'm not sure about this, but with Foxworth and Clem being computer spergs, I wonder if they would ever get along?

I have been watching his videos for a while. Always thought it was someone in their early 20's messing with electronics, but this is quite a shock to me. It really seems like he's deep down in autism and depression, with a lack of taking care of himself. Especially his lack of safety when doing electronics projects and his environment seems like he is trying to kill himself, or atleast he wouldn't care if something he does kills him. His cartoons are a clear indication of autism, creating a world were everything is perfect. What is most frightening about it is the appereance of his dad. It is no doubt Clements vision of his dad, grumpy and angry with him all the time. But he still misses him, even though the emotional (and perhaps physical) abuse he suffered through. It seems as if he never got the appropriate help he needed with his autism and eventually depression. He is so far off the rails, so detached from reality, which show absolute lack of mental help. I thought Europe was a place where mental help was better than the US overall? Guess the UK is a bit of an exception. Anyways, if he does end up dead from something he does, I'd be sorry for the mum. I really think she's not well either if Clements vision of her in the cartoons is right. Always watching TV, and while happy in the cartoons, I can imagine her being depressed in real life ever since her husband passed away, with only having her son left who isn't social either. A really sad state of affairs if you think about it.

We're better than the US for mental health but we do still fail a lot of people. It's the same all over Europe, just look at Mylar.

In Clem's case though, I think it's to do with the family in general. Both Clem and his mum are obviously depressed, I guess Daddy Saggers meant a lot to Mummy Saggers and poor old Clem is picking up on it.
