Companies have been doing this thing recently where they turn their most recognizable characters into babies. This advertising trend is relatively new, but it’s quickly becoming the most obnoxious thing to come out of the this year. And with the announcement of “Baby Mr. Peanut” I felt compelled to create this thread. How does everyone else feel about this new ’advertising campaign’ trend?

pandering to babyfur/toddlercon/ABDL fetishists? or does this mental illness go deeper psychologically than just being sexual? this faggot's youtube avatar comes to mind:

Does everyone forget Muppet Babies? Flinstone Kids? A Pup named Scooby Doo? Baby Mickey? Baby Looney Toons? Baby AIDS?

It's been a thing for decades now.

Baby Yoda may be pandering ...but at least it's GOOD pandering.

Remember the Porgs?

Cute things sell. Cute things sell even better to girls and childless women. It's not really bad, it's just not a product designed to be marketed to everyone.

This advertising trend is relatively new

Yeah about that....

It's nothing new. Cuteness is disarming, it taps into something instinctual. I don't care for it as marketing because it's low-effort and a little manipulative, but with all the young couples preferring a pet over a child maybe it fills some underlying emptiness. You know, in that consoomer kind of way.

When will Kojimbo give us the Deagle Nation Babies spinoff that we need and deserve?

I think it's time to convert my Beanie Babies investment into cash. Got a huge box of them up in the attic (from raising 4 kids in the 90's).
