Counter Strike

New beta branch adds in animgraph 2 to all third person animations. From a small portion of testing in deathmatch with bots it seems like the game is more fluid.

A huge change is fps. At the same spot in Dust2 I gain about 10% more fps (~330 to ~370) without bots, this is probably due to the source 2 version itself getting updated. I'll probably edit this later with more in depth FPS differences, since i'm wanting to check if deathmatch is still terrible.

Edit:
Did a deathmatch run with bots on both stable and beta builds, dust 2, normal settings, for a full 10 minute match.

Average FPS1% Lows0.1% LowsAverage Frame Time
Stable178.472.258.65.6ms
Beta206.1109.483.84.9ms

It does seem like the game uses more GPU and less CPU overall. Went from an average gpu usage of 73% to 78%. I would expect the performance difference to be minimally smaller in an actual game though, since bots kill cpu usage, which is why my gpu isnt going full throttle.
does the fps still tank if you or someone else shoots their gun?

I was checking the current prices of CS2 skins that I've cleared out 5+ years ago and its ridiculous - things that were 1-2 usd a piece now go for 20-70 usd. What happened? I see that the biggest ramp-up began in the last few years - did some specific change trigger the rapid inflation?

What happened?
China. Chinks pump and dumped skins so much retards started to actually buy at the inflated prices. It got worst once "investors" came in that don't even play the game and just gambles and buys skins.

Don't know, never had it happen to a point where its noticeable.

Probably off-topic, but I stopped playing CS when Valve removed playerradio deathcry. That was the final straw for me
"No fun allow, you have to play super serious and get angry while playing comp. No fake chat popups for skin. no moaning. your lucky we even give you the ability to bhop."

Chinese mainly. There was also the update to where you can trade up to a knife, making red skins extremely inflated and reducing the prices of knives substantially, making reds that were worth a few bucks before going up to hundreds of dollars sometimes depending on the knife you can trade up to.

FMPONE, creator of Cache, released a new map today, Splinter. Its plays well, the map reminds me more of a tf2 map, with a lot more height variation and skill jumps, which is unique. I think its a good contender to be in the next community map pool.

Range-banning Chinks away from CS is one of the key areas the community needs to focus on to make CS great again.

No way fag.

I downloaded this game a few weeks ago and I'm having a shit ton of fun. I've always liked source shooters like FOF and L4D2 but this one is better than both of those by miles. I'm still working on my aim though and I can't figure out how to use grenades for the life of me.
Having grown up playing this game with no strategic intentions, it's a pretty good game. Once you realize grenades are tactical skill checks that function as rock/paper/scissors makes it a lot more feasible. The value of each round carrying over and losing 16-2 being a bunch of consecutive wins and not just a "they were better" landslide.

Premier as a solo queuer is pure unadulterated AIDS that literally equates to gambling. I've never had a more miserable time playing an online game in my life than solo Premier; having to deal with smurfs, mismatched rank / unranked players, sub-5K ELO tards that don't take the mode seriously, cheaters, seething shit talking teammates that bring down team morale, teammates that abandon the match for retarded reasons (you didn't pick MY map so I'm leaving chud), teammates that unnecessarily go AFK / throw the match, etc etc.
AAAAAAA.jpg

It's just an awful mode that drags down my skill more than it helps. Competitive is infinitely more tolerable and fun.

i always sucked in Counter-Strike, I’ve never cared I always play it for a week then move on to something else.

Now I just had a night of 1:1 KD and last game I played was 2:1. Maybe the teams were just wildly unbalanced but holy shit the new scrubs or Counter-Strike must be the most retarded faggots who can’t aim for their lives.
it's becoming popular again because there's no video games to play, and the zoomers see that the game has been largely unchanged for ~30 years.

my ~22 year old co-worker is talking about counter strike like it's a hot new thing and i think it's weird as hell. Shit... i'm an old head now? i was late to the party. I got CS:S in like 2006 and never even owned the original half life until i bought it in high school to play The Specialists. These niggas don't even know about CS:S

Premier works great... if you have *competent* players. 10k-16k is such a cancerous hellhole in premier, especially for solo queue players. If you take into consideration the server you're in, then it is even worse. I've played both SEA and NA CS and fuck me in the ass its such a pain. The fact that you have to endure retardation for 60+ minutes (especially in overtime) makes solo queue painful in CS, especially if you're in a place that doesn't even play CS.

It's why I often think to myself "why the fuck did I sell my WoT account for this shit".

Cache has officially returned, redone by Valve:
cs2cache.png

Literally nothing else of note though, just the ultra rare singular addition of a permanent map.

I love how they handled the lighting on the new Cache. It's not over exposed to hell and back like what they did with Inferno. It's a more grounded approach and parts of it actually look photorealistic if you disable the hud and weapon model. I hope this is a direction they continue to go in with maps.
