Counter Strike

It's been two years since CS2 was announced and it's still a piece of shit missing most of CS:GO's content.

FUCK Valve for talking away my beloved spray pattern game.

Right click on Counter-Strike 2 in your library, click Properties, click Betas, and set it to "csgo_legacy". Done. Be warned that this may not work forever and that at any time Valve could decide to fuck you over and take the option away. I would suggest looking into SteamCMD and archiving older builds

The missing content is the least of your worries. If anything, the removal of content started since that Panorama update where they removed more than half of the classic maps that originated since OG CSGO (Militia, Assault, Shortdust, Cobblestone, Aztec, etc.) The "feel" of CS2 feels completely fucked by the Source2 engine. Its either that Valve has never bothered with making servers 128-tick, the animation system is heavily fucked or netcode is constantly unstable than past CS titles. Its why AWP-ing feels more fucky than before.

It seems that Valve says No to Classic Offensive's release.

@thhrang "Is Valve slowly turning into every other modern AAA game company?"
yes.

You either die a hero or see yourself become the villain.

Valve has more market share than Xbox at this point. Either money got to the higher ups' heads or the leftists / marxists have invaded Valve.
Their refusal to let this mod release is very likely because they see it as a direct competitor to CS2, which is their biggest gamba slot machine. Even though the mod has no microtranscations, it would siphon away people from their slot machine ecosystem, especially so because one of the biggest complaints about CS2 for the longest time has been a lack of actual content, and shit missing from CSGO.

That's sad
Without modding, a big portion of Valve's OWN games wouldn't exist

When you start feeling threatened by modders of all people, your game probably sucks.

Its because its CS, there is no bigger factor or (direct) malice behind it. With TF2C it was only because Valve was slow to work on the SDK and mod support and they can't communicate at all. If it was DOTA would it be the same? Probably.

Don't take this is as a sign that Valve is going to start smiting down other modding projects, if it were HL, Portal, TF2, etc. then none of this would've happened.

That doesn't mean Valve is without fault here.

It was more of a rhetorical question than anything.
Where I have issue is with the word "becoming" they've been just another soulless AAA company I would say since they introduced the hat economy around 2011-2012 in TF2. I still don't know why Valve has this gilded reputation among the gaming community when a lot of the rot we see in gaming today, they pioneered at a large scale. Free-to-play games with microtransactions? They started that with TF2 15 years ago. Quasi-legal gambling being allowed and actively encouraged? Started with TF2 and CSGO. Shitty coomerslop flooding the market? I wanna say porn games have been allowed on steam for almost a decade at this point. Valve hasn't been the scrappy little company supporting PC gaming that everyone remembers in almost 20 years. Gabe Newell is a multibillionaire. If any of what I've given as examples didn't shake your confidence in Valve already, you just haven't been paying attention.
