Cat's in the office now. Couldn't stand having Little Guy out in the cold without me, her new best friend. Good thing my monster has a good leave it. Don't worry, I'm keeping the dog out of any room the cat is in.

Probably going to surrender the cat to a shelter or rescue.

My cat's 6th birthday is coming up soon, and so is my doggo's 2nd.

I am excited for my babies.

My second cat had his birthday back in September when he turned 4. I had a little party for him, gave him some presents, and made him a catfood cake that I rudely made him share with his sister cat. I'm going to have similar festivities for my girl cat and puppy dog.

My dog's first birthday was celebrated with new treats and herding ball time. It became a literal birthday bash once the ball bounced onto the porch.

Found out kittens around Little Guy's age sleep practically 24 hours a day. Couldn't keep her in the house. Dog wasn't happy getting blocked off from the cat. Kitten is in the garage with a makeshift nest, makeshift litter box, and a bowl of water. Someone gave me kitten milk and cat food. Was giving her canned chicken prior to that.

Thanks so much for looking after her. Do make sure to give her plenty of interaction, they need pets and play to get properly socialised. I'm not sure how long the window is but if you miss it I think they're quite hard to get adopted.

Also get her some worming tablets if you haven't already, apparently a lot of kittens have them and they can be very destructive to a small, growing body.

It is possible to safely introduce dogs to cats, though it depends somewhat on the dog. I have friends who keep cats and lurchers which is insane to me, somehow they're fine together inside but can't be allowed in the garden at the same time.

I almost adopted a cat today, went to the local vet/petshop to get a few treats for Premium Doggo, they had this gorgeous 5 year old pure white male rescue with two different coloured eyes Yellow and soft blue colour. He had the sweetest personality was mewing at me through the glass before i walked in. Nice thick double coat my husband had to drag me out of there without him. Only downside he was better as a single cat house hold.

My old girl is also a happier as a single house hold cat, but fuck it was close.

Might end up keeping the cat. Got a huge tent-like playpen for dogs to use as an enclosure for her until she's big and strong enough to tell the dog off. Dog has zero interest in doing anything to intentionally hurt the cat as far as I can tell, but better safe than sorry considering the massive size difference.

Her true personality(typo'd this as petsonality) is out now. Started out as the sweetest little kitty. Turns out to be a little sassy shit. She had a stoved leg when I took her in, which healed yesterday. Had no idea kittens her size could jump out of 10 gallon storage totes until yesterday. The 100+ pound dog can barely even jump onto my bed as effortlessly as that cat can jump out of a box.

Little Guy has a new theme song. The exact same one as the dog.
Only pets I have that aren't little troublemakers are my hermit crabs and that's just because their trouble is contained in a tank. Helps that none of them are of a land hermit crab species known for being little shits. I've been sassed by the crabs.

My kitty boy, my sweet man, has a light spot on the bridge of his nose, and it's bugging me, because I'm worried he's sick. And because my husband will get all smug*, with his cat on his shoulder, and tell me that I'm worried over nothing.

I just want to avoid both my smug husband, and potentially needing to bring my special boy to the vet.

*He's not smug, he's very sincere, but his cat is smug when she's on his shoulder.

Best to get it checked, at best its just a sunspot at worse it's cancer which most kitties are prone too and you don't want to see cancer rotting their nostril away. My first kitty had it he lived to the ripe old age of 22 but the cancer rotted his nose away it was awful to see.

My cats get a handmade raw diet and it's worth it for no stinky poos/vomit/hairballs.

Both of my childhood cats lived into their 20s on a raw diet of kidneys, livers and hearts simply because those things were dirt cheap.

Raw-fed cats MUST have access to liver. Dogs can make do without, but cats cannot. Kidney is a secreting organ (another vital staple) and heart is basically a muscle that also supplies a ton of taurine (which cats cannot synthesize on their own, unlike dogs). Bone is ideal for tooth and jaw health but not a deal-breaker.

So for dirt-cheap you were feeding your cats almost the best possible diet they could have. Congrats!

Ugh, you're right... He's 12, and he's been through so much with me, that I genuinely don't know what I'll do with myself when he passes. He also sleeps under the blankets with me, and I don't know how to train other cats to do that.

I have a very specific parrot problem, and I'm not sure where else to ask. My little baby Rosie bourke likes to run around my drawing tablet. I'm fine with this, because I'm building trust, buuuuuut she gets scared when I have to use my tablet... Like, she loves chasing around my own, pretending she's a bigger birdie, everything, but she hisses and scampers away and everything the moment I have to press something on the screen.

I need to choose another color? Run away!
I need to paint that corner? No!!

She'll run away, and then run back with her little beak open, like she can kill my pen.

Is this hampering any trust building with her?
