Creationists - Jack Chick, Kent Hovind, etc.

Hovind's far from the first person to fall for "Vitamin B-17", but it's still inexcusable for anyone to be selling something known to be poisonous as a health product. This isn't even shit like apple seeds, which are basically impossible for stomachs to digest the cyanide contained within and are at a low enough dose to essentially not matter to humans anyway, or cassava, which is processed in a way to render the cyanide within harmless. This shit can really fuck people up if they take it long enough.
"Doctor" Hovind has been pushing this quack cancer remedy for years. I'm surprised he got back onto it so quickly. Maybe medical bollocks is his new thing now that Eric has taken over the family creationism business.

This video was so retarded it stripped the color off my skin.

I've spent so long lately gawking at left wing lolcows, I almost forgot just how fucking nuts the right wing ones could get. What a fucking psychopath.

I recall some guy being literally forced off the Canadian Tv show "Dragon's Den" by the guy who own Boston Pizza because he came in trying to get the Dragons to invest in a drug that would "cure cancer" and he straight up admitted it did jack shit and the Dragons were so fucking pissed at him.
I don't know if there's any relation between that guy and this guy. I'd imagine a lot of people have made "cures for cancer"
Anyway, selling people false hope is pretty damn fucked up, about as fucked up as you can get without killing or raping someone

If people forego legit treatment, it basically is killing them. Unfortunately, generally a fraud resulting in death can't be the basis for a murder conviction.

One thing I have to ask: I'm new to the Hovind Disaster, so can anyone tell me how many people take this horrible creepy motherfucker seriously? I know he says he taught science for 15 years, but did he actually teach a significant number of people? How many people with any kind of power even bother associating with him?

I'm not even talking exclusively serious people. Just anyone with money and power even if they're basically real life Dynastias like Ann Coulter or Rush Limbaugh. It terrifies me to think of a man like this molding the minds of children.

One thing I find interesting about Chick Tracts is how little they actually quote Jesus himself. There's the whole "I am the way" speech and a couple tracts about the Parables but that's about it. Most of the rest is Old Testament, Saint Paul, and conspiracy theories. What, is Jesus too nice for Chick or something?

I seriously think that bit of the law has to be changed. At the very least, give the person(s) responsible for the fraud to serve some jail time and a massive fine. They know the shit doesn't work, yet they peddle it anyway using pretty shitty tactics.

People who hawk bullshit health treatments have historically been very good at avoiding prosecution. The rare times they've been successfully prosecuted have usually involved other reasons. Even the Enzyte guy was only put away because he made it impossible to cancel his bullshit service, rather than because he was selling a bullshit service.

Fortunately, Hovind's been put away for other but equally deserving reasons before. I have a hard time imagining he won't reoffend in some way that'll get him shut down again.

So I was working earlier and I ran into a middle aged man on the elevator. After some small talk about how long I've been working and what days I've worked, he handed me a Jack Chick booklet. It was exactly what I expected.

I plan on keeping it so me and my friends can have a good laugh.

Awww, I was hoping it would be The Last Generation or that vampire one... Those are awesome for taking the piss out of!

Granted, this one was pretty funny. The best part is the "YAAAH" on the second to last page. It's the least agonizing sound I could think of. It makes me think of this instead:

And of course it's the woman who gets sent to Hell. I love how crazy religious stuff like this treat women like absolute shit lol

Every time I look at Chick tracts, I think of this:
