Creationists - Jack Chick, Kent Hovind, etc.

Hipsters can be irritating right? Somehow, with how the Christian hipster acted, I can't but help feel as though that guy is going to get punched in the face if he acts like that.
He does fit the stereotype. Scoffs at anything mainstream (making several exceptions) and has that high horse attitude towards art (yeah, this was an art class). I remember the second most stupidest thing he ever said was how Metal Gear Solid is "retarded" because it's unrealistic and has cyborg ninjas while Grand Theft Auto is the better game because of the realism Whether you like MGS or GTA better is not the point, the point was how this guy values realism over something more important like fun. However, that's getting off-topic. Frankly, I don't know why I bothered with that table in art class when I could have moved next to the people I was super-chill with.

I also remembered that another part of his reasoning that evolution can't be real was because there's no evidence of any of the transitional species (such as, an animal that was between a T-rex and the chicken). If that doesn't make sense, look up the crocoduck argument.

GTA better than MGS because of realism? Then I guess I can go buy an assault rifle and take on the cops, army, and mafia's, that is realistic isn't it? Getting to the transitional species, according to wikipedia this is a velociraptor correct?

I'm a creationist and I can see transition since it has feathers and what kinda looks like a beak but not really a beak. I would deny it though if only because it ain't like Jurassic Park :( (Curse you science) even then I'm not gonna get all huffed up because one can only imagine what a creature looks like from its bones until you could get a good possible reconstruction.

I believe the guy I debated said something similar. Something along the lines that because people don't have feathers and gills evolution doesn't exist. It was explained to him that evolution isn't mixing and matching random aspects of different animals together, but of course we're biased because you can't believe in God AND science according to him.

Also, it was only confirmed a few years ago that raptors had feathers, despite being long theorized. Feathers are rarely preserved, there are only a few feathered dinosaurs known. Though probably most or all theropod dinosaurs had some sort of feathers is the current theory.

Regarding dinosaurs, never really knew much facts about them other than that they are extinct and such. As for the guy you debated, I honestly wonder if he ever got called out for his bias (Can't believe in both God AND science). What is it with me wanting to see people getting called out? Guess it just has to do with seeing them getting knocked down of their egos.

I had a classmate in my PsychBio class denounce Evolution, Germ Theory, Mental Illness, Modern Medicine and the existance of Neurons in one three minute rant.

Yeah, the Jurassic Park ones are actually more like Deinonychuses

So that's what a velociraptor supposedly looks like now?

I'm surprisingly okay with this.

They were called Velociraptor antirrhopus at the time the novel and movie were created. Deinonychus and Velociraptor are still very closely related, regardless. And they were pretty fierce predators.

But the appeal is gone when they look like Dodos with teeth.

These velociraptors almost look like they could be pets. It's a little disappointing, but if they imprinted on you, they're passable minions.

Hoping I can visit my friend when Bill Nye comes to town at the end of the month. AUGH YEAH SCIENCE, BITCH!

There is also Muslim Creationist Haryun Yaya. If I remember right he turned out to be an extortionist criminal or something, but he published an Atlas of Creation the had a fishing lure, in a drawing of various insects.

Are there any Jewish creationists? It seems to me that most Jews believe in evolution or theistic evolution.

Probably the hard core Orthodox Jews do. But would they use computers? I don't know much about them aside from the men grow beards and women are typically segregated from men in Orthodox communities.

Bill Nye The Science Guy and Ken Ham are going to debate.

Should be interesting. For Bill Nye that is.
