Creepy Unsolved Mysteries - From unsolved murders to unidentified people to unexplained supernatural events, what are some of the creepiest unsolved mysteries you've ever heard of?

Groomer killed him. It actually is sad and there literally are many such cases.
Probably the most irritating thing about this case was the way the groomer theory was dismissed early on. Why? He didn't like using a cell phone. He was a shy bright kid who could probably hide hitler in his room as long as the parents aren't too strict

Do you recall someone claiming they spoke to him on an old internet chatroom/messenger under the handle andyroo he was along for money but couldn't receive it because he had no bank account and told the user he ran away at 14.

Obviously, could be quite easy to make that up but always thought it was a bit odd.

Yes, I remember that. It’s always stuck in my head. If I remember rightly, ‘andyroo’ was also his childhood nickname…

I think it was dismissed as a hoax. The case was and still is one of the most well known missing person cases in the uk. I doubt he was alive long after the disappearance.

The sex trafficking shit is primarily hopes and copes by the family because it means a higher likelihood of them being alive.

But it has become so ubiquitous in troo crime that I’ve seen dumpy middle aged women scared of being trafficked because of all the theories that have popped up about missing women and children. So there’s a weird, fucked up aspect of it that validates them. Yep, the demand is sky high for some 45 year old pear shaped woman with a cottage cheese ass. Totally. There are a bunch of freaks in true crime to where it probably is a net negative for them to be around. But true crime podcasts are extremely lucrative, many clear six figures easy. So looks like the retarded trafficking theories will continue for the foreseeable future 😑
There's also a fetish aspect to it. It shouldn't come as a surprise that a lot of people interested in true crime are perverts.

People from many different walks of life are super invested in the idea that there are huge secret trafficking rings everywhere just out of sight. Sure there are, but they are mostly pretty mundane and what you would think, like exploiting third world women of dubious consent. Not these massive worldwide illuminati kidnapping rings snatching little blond children to sell to the Obamas for adrenochrome type shit that people on the internet allege. Or the white women kidnapping rings that always lurk just on the edges between everyday suburban middle class life and the unknown. It's almost like they want the trafficking rings to be real.

Unless you're a woman in a turd world shithole you have a better chance of being bitten by a penguin than being abducted and forced into being a hooker. The girls used for that are sourced mostly out of Moldova, Ukraine, and Belarus if the clients want a White girl and Central Asian nations if they want something a little more exotic. No one wants niglets or little pajeets except for their own kind. Forty years ago in the US, though? Yeah, if you were in an orphanage and you were a cute girl there would be a good chance you'd be "adopted" and never be seen again. Thinking there's gangs of men going around abducting girls and women in the US nowadays is about as retarded as thinking there's a group of serial killers targeting young White men, drowning them, and then spray painting a smiley face where they dump the body.

A lot of trafficking is just men getting vulnerable women/teens into "sex work" because they're either broke or need drugs. It will often be an abusive boyfriend or drug dealer who introduces them to the idea and pushes them into it as a way they can get next month's rent payment, or their next drug fix and then they keep negging until she has no self esteem left and is stuck on drugs or being poor and no longer has any strength to leave.
These middle class women posting shit on tiktok or whatever saying that "if your windscreen wiper is up on your car it means you're marked by traffickers and you need to be super careful!!" are just fear mongering, the chance of them getting trafficked is slim to none. Not to mention all the people trying to profit off of this fear by selling expensive "self defense kits" which aren't even that safe for the user and will do nothing effective to stop an attacker.

Has this thread discussed the disappearance of Andrew Gosden yet?

Poor kid was likely murdered by a groomer less than 24 hours after arriving in London. I've always thought he probably met someone at the summer camp for gifted children in 2006 and then kept in touch with that person using e.g. a burner phone. If that person promised to give him a lift home, that would also explain why he didn't buy a return ticket.

Britbong cops fucked up big time by not looking into acquiring CCTV footage until it was too late and most of it had already been deleted, even though they knew that he'd bought a train ticket to London and what train he took only four days after his disappearance.

Edit: someone on the Andrew Gosden subreddit proposed the theory that he could also have met the groomer during the 2007 summer break, when he helped his mom run a kid's club at the church his family attended. The groomer in this case could be someone that Andrew grew up with (e.g. if Andrew attended the same type of kid's club when he was younger and that person was helping out), but was now college-aged, living in London and only back in Doncaster over the summer. I definitely think Andrew's groomer is someone he first met in real life as opposed to online.

Which is why some parents buy into the human trafficking angle because it means they’re still alive out there somewhere and there’s hope that they can be rescued like in the movie Taken.

Exactly. Hypothetically if this really did happen, she'd be dead already. I doubt she'd still be doing sex work at 50.

Human trafficking doesn't happen like Hollywood films.
