Creepy Unsolved Mysteries - From unsolved murders to unidentified people to unexplained supernatural events, what are some of the creepiest unsolved mysteries you've ever heard of?

  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.
On a semi-related note, I find supposed sightings of Flores Man (Homo floresiensis) in recent centuries to be very interesting. Flores Man is supposed to be short and ape-like. Supposedly the species went extinct 10,000 to 50,000 years ago but Portuguese traders reported seeing little hobbit men in the Sumatra area and then we have these local legends in the same area:

The fact there are legends of these little human-like creatures running around makes me think they were around a lot more recently than 10,000 years ago.

What about music in dreams? I'm not interested in the art of making music and yet sometimes I dream of songs I've never heard before. Isn't it weird that my mind is capable of creating new melodies and lyrics even tho I have no interest in it? What's the meaning of this?
Happens to me sometimes. I have no skills in music so I can't write it down or something like that and end up just forgetting it. One time I remembered it though only to realize it was a rip-off of Cloud Atlas theme.

Cryptomnesia (when you come up with something really cool only to realise you've already heard/seen/whatever'd it) is a funny thing. I grew out of Harry Potter a long time ago but for some reason I recently reinvented parts of the title theme. I dreamt specifically about music a couple of times but one was a finger style guitar thing that I couldn't replicate and another was some chords that I'm confident I played the same way when I woke up but it sounded terrible.

Where does the knowledge come from then and why is it only accessible when dreaming?

Weird stuff.
Intuition I.e. you know some stuff without realizing. You have some basic rhythm and harmony knowledge so your brain just combines the sounds according to it. Like you don't have to be a scriptwriter to find some movie being terrible, but if you learn something about the craft you can also explain why it is bad and what can be improved upon.

I wanted to delve deeper into the speedway [EDIT: Burger chef] murders so I got a documentary from 2023 about it and holy shit, how little reverence the producers have for the victims is egregious. I thought crimetubers were bad but this is a 'professional' production made by a bunch of disgusting Australians. 0/10.
Can anyone link me some good vids on the subject?

Relatively recently, Othram found that she was of Iranian descent.
I really think she was just depressed, and convinced she would never stop being fat & get a husband, so quietly ended it all in the least disruptive way possible. She's FAR from the first woman to feel that way and try to plan it, but she does seem to be the first one smart enough to achieve the platonic ideal of "disappear because I'm ugly and worthless". This case should absolutely never be publicized to the teenage girl community.

I had a dream where my true name was Archangel Kazafiel.
Do you remember any attributes you had associated with you as this Kazafiel? I've had my own angelological dream (below) and would be interested to compare notes as a were.
I once dreamt I was the Archangel Michael, resplendent in plate of gold, vanquishing the Devil. Except Satan had the face of my ex-husband

The Family murders

I was going to recommend the Casefile episode on 'The Family', as he covers more in depth the levels of depravity these poor boys endured and how brazen some of the ""people"" involved were, but "disgusting Australians" did make me worry they were the ones behind your second post, but then searching "Casefile" "Speedway" and "Casefile" "Burger" (the case is also known as The Burger Chef Murders) didn't bring up any results, so give them a shot if you want to continue losing hope in humanity. I'd definitely recommend SponsorBlock though, I know we've all got to pay the bills but goshdang.

WTF KAZAFIEL IS REAL????
It does follow the naming convention of many angels; Gabriel, Uriel, Selathiel, etc.; with Kazaf possibly being the Hebrew kasaf meaning "money" or the more likely kazav meaning "falsehood", with the whole name meaning something like "God is a falsehood".
That was a demon. You dreamt about being a demon.
Give me the puzzle pieces.

What are the origins of the items in the Museum of the Holy Souls in Purgatory?

It does explain the part with me killing people in vengeance.

I am not aware of this specific documentary, but this trend has really exploded in the last 3-4 years in the 'True Crime' scene. It's fucking cancer and one reason (among several) that I almost totally stopped reading any of these sites anymore.

My thought on what this is is that the YT true crime scene views these crimes like they do a TV show or movie - almost like fictional characters - that the murder victims are sort of like victims in horror movies - they probably did some bad things in their lives so maybe in a sense they deserved to die. They are in it to be entertained, not to solve mysteries and get justice (my motivation in following these before).

The ones I really hate are makeup and nail channels that do true crime stories while they beautify themselves. It's obviously just fishing for views since without the "OMG u gaiz! This is sooooo creepy! They never found her body!" they'd be lost in a sea of mediocre beautytubers. There's cooking and craft true crime channels too. It's like that meme about doing something serious to inappropriate music.

It's all set dressing to them. But there's real people involved in these crimes and it would suddenly not be that entertaining if it happened to their family. I saw that Elisa Lam documentary on Netflix. The true crime community's antics didn't surprise me one bit. They ruined a guy's life over Lam's death. https://loudwire.com/morbid-metal-musician-falsely-blamed-elisa-lam-death/
I don't think the article mentions it but the documentary does. While the music videos were posted days after Elisa Lam was found dead, Pablo Vergara visited the Cecil an entire year before she did. And he had an alibi for his whereabout. He was recording under contract. Even so, the authorities questioned him and he was declared the murderer on Taiwan television merely because of internet rumors. Insanity.
