Crowbcat Discussion Thread

It's just fucking depressing. Everything interesting has been stripped off so there is a new shiny easy digestible version to sell to zoomers without all the "problematic" bits. In general every AAA the past year deserves a video of how those studios lost basic ability to program.
I think it can be said that the video game industry is suffering a collective regression where programmers are replaced by "modellers" who can't do anything that isn't proscribed by their shitty game engines.

I’m a huge fan of the first game and I’ve seen very little footage of the actual remaster. Hearing the voice acting was the biggest thing that stuck out to me. Everybody sounds like a generic side character from an anime.
That'd be anything using US voice acting for the last 4 years or so. It's pretty rough.

The funimation-ification of voice acting has ruined everything. I don’t even know how you’d find people to do voices like in the OG Dead Rising. It’s disheartening..

If somebody told me that Mass Effect: Andromeda was a self-aware comedy on space dramas written for millennials/teenagers, I'd believe it. I mean it wouldn't excuse the technical woes or the bad writing, but it'd make SENSE.

It's not. It's a entry in the well acclaimed Mass Effect series that flopped horribly. It's almost so bad, it's laughable. It takes itself so seriously, it may not even be worth the effort to go through.

At least the bugs, stupid animations and awkward moments make it a decent game to take a piss out of, Dragon Age: Mental Illness is just peak Weimar media.

Video games make me want to be dead.
Made a big post in the COD thread about the absolute state of quality for this franchise, but I will say this: The first 2 minutes make genuinely gag. Normally, we argue that people have the right to like something you don't, different tastes and all that. If anybody has financially supported the devs that made...whatever that is, we can objectively say your tastes are shit and your opinion is not worth being heard. We've reached a point where having Snoop Dog commentate your match and putting a weed camo on your gun isn't ridiculous anymore, it's expected.
This goes well with his video on CS GO skins and TF2 cosmetics
I don't play any online games anymore, for a variety of reasons, but if I ever go back to playing any online FPS I will stick with the standard generic dude bro and no camos, precisely because of this shit.

Video games make me want to be dead.
Gaming has regressed so far, Crowbcat made TWO videos.

About the CoD one: notice the last minute of the video. That's how World at War's campaign ends. CoD: WWII STARTS its campaign with: Over 6,000,000 lives lost during World War II. Something like that. Putting that message at the END illustrates the heavy toll that actual conflict had on the world we know today.

That's ONE little thing that makes a difference.

Video games make me want to be dead.
Even as someone who never really liked COD, I can tell you that Black Ops 6 and Modern Warfare III (not to be confused with Modern Warfare 3, fuck the people that use this type of naming) are infinitely worse than the shit that came out even 5 years ago, let alone 15 years ago when we had Modern Warfare and World at War as the recent releases blowing people away. Horse Armor was truly the domino that started the ruination of gaming.

That ending still brings me chills, especially with how zombies was introduced... *Nazi* Zombies that is.

The bright side is there is still a good amount of people who love to play WaW, I occasionally hop on Plutonium for MP and zombies.

CoD has always been the laughingstock of gaming. For 2 decades now these games have been derided as stupid games for braindead jocks. But nostalgia is something magical. Nowadays, kids who played these games back then (crowbcat definitely one of them) are reminiscing of the good old days when games were still good, failing to realize adults already considered CoD generic slop even back then.

The cycle continues.
