Anyone feel like convention cringe (as conventions die off) are a sub-genre of cringe that people unaffiliated with conventions don't fully understand?

That 2014 compilation has a lot less meaning if the immortal words "It's Ridge Racer!! RIIII-" mean nothing to you.

Watching conventions with people online was really a special time of a year. I am really sad that time has passed. Everyone must have became self aware since there were dozens of youtube videos making fun of them every year.

Is Crowbcat even worth watching anymore?

No. After his mental breakdown over schilling some trash VR game he became worthless. The game I believe had something like a 150 person peak on Steam and usually has no players now and seems dead. And he was calling it the "future of VR" and comparing to the first 3D games and revolutionary titles. Guy was either advertising the game, which he denied, or has zero taste in quality games. I personally believe it was an advertisement or personal favor to make that video.

That "Golden age of Xbox 360 timeline" really drove me away from his channel when it was first posted and seeing in the comments the type of people that Crow fosters. I didn't want to be associated that. Again, just play those fucking games instead bitching how everything is shit now.

It's getting harder to play 360 games on an actual 360 though. Game preservation is getting worse and worse. Hardware preservation is nonexistent. There isn't even a 360 store anymore and just getting access to Microsoft's old 360 servers to re-download your actual purchases is getting more and more difficult. The 360 was Microsoft's peak of mainstream gaming but they are actively destroying the Xbox brand for 'Windows Gaming'.

There will probably be a point in the next few years where Xbox is an abandoned brand. And only pirated copies, emulation, and jail broken systems will be able to play older Xbox and 360 era games. And outside of a niche group of hardcore fans the entire brand and ecosystem, and many of its games, will just fade away or die.

I hate the nostalgia pandering that Crow has been doing. He's done it in the past but I don't remember it being this frequent.

I have but one point to make here; it's not nostalgia pandering when, currently, every new game has been conceptually absolutely terrible (case in point the latest Call of Duty, BF 2042, etc)

Thats pretty accurate. the apple vision pro was basically everything people were hoping VR to be, and despite that it still sort of sucks compared to lower tech cheaper ways of doing everything. people have been making the case for awhile that the smartphone is the reality of the dreams William Gibson told us back in the 1980s
