Huh, I’m glad to hear that, and makes me more confident in upgrading soon. Did a quick cursory search and seen people who’ve only had problems with certain custom resolutions in CRU. No idea about 4000 or 5000 support though.
I've no idea, it's just a chinky adaptor that I got from Amazon. But for the little that I've researched, seems like some cards have no issues with VGA adaptors. Mine was made by Gigabyte if that helps.
True, it only has an energy dense cell capable of thermal runaway and violent ignition. But sure, kilovolts sound scarier
I was until last summer. I finally broke down and got a good oled. I didn't want to get rid of my CRT monitor, but I already have a giant CRT for old console games and only so much space, so something had to go. I have a mayber 2' x 4' desk and I couldn't even work on it because the monitor was taking up so much space. I found it much better for reading stuff on the Internet, weirdly enough. Most websites fill a 4:3 screen a lot better than a 16:9. I was actually really sad about getting rid of it which is kind of pathetic if you think about it, ha ha ha.
I do think CRTs are better for productivity up to a point. Video editing software I can actually use (or have AE on the CRT, Premiere on the main monitor) but when it comes to music the screen is just too small.
Welcome to the CRT brotherhood! Always good to see someone diving in. Sixty bucks is a little steep for that tv, but these things have turned into collector bait lately so it's no surprise people are selling them at those prices. That TV will still shine for OG Xbox, vhs tapes, and anything meant for a softer picture. If you get the chance down the road, keep an eye out for sets with s-video or component inputs for a jump in image quality
