Being a big fan of Crusader Kings 2, I have decided to give Crusader Kings 3 a whirl. And unlike most Paradox releases, its not a buggy broken mess! They are evolving! I guess all that Stellaris Money has allowed them to pay for some competent coders. That said though, I fail to see any meaningful difference between this game and Crusader Kings 2 mechanically. the only major differences I have run into so far are more expansive skill trees, a bigger map (each city, castle, and temple is now a location), but I am on the fence if that is actually an "improvement". It makes things more cluttered. And the Map just loves to show off its 3d rendering when you zoom in, while conveniently erasing political boundaries. It forces you to squint to figure out what you have and what your opponent has. Everything else flows just like it does in CK 2. Marry, have kids, fabricate claims. All with very minor or no difference. For example the Fabricate Claim is now done by your priest instead of your chancellor. And in true Paradox Fashion, its very clear there will be an endless parade of DLC for it.
Mediocre and playable. If you've never played Crusader Kings, you will probably get way more enjoyment then me who logged way too many hours into the previous game, so it may be a better experience for you. CK is definitely a top tier strategy game.
