On July 3, 2016 h3h3productions made a video covering the controversy over two known csgo youtubers named ProSyndicate and TmarTn.

They secretly sponsored and created a CSGO skin gambling website and created clickbaity videos to appeal to new users without disclosing it was faked.
More eventually gets covered in the video

Someone made a response video to the "I'm sorry" video TmartN made.

Seeing how there already is a fairly well established, properly moderated site for CS:GO gambling, I half want to say the people who got scammed are just as stupid.

I mean I've gotten like $50 in games after skin resale just via making drunk csgo gambling bets, and I don't even know the teams.

While the CS:GO Lotto thing is shady, I really don't see why I should care about retards betting skins that are worth nothing but Steam money.

Because they're retarded and it's fun to laugh at them? Not quite so much as the tool responsible for it. There aren't any winners in this situation, it's perfect!

It's more shit like according to the FTC it's illegal for them to have made videos promoting their own website without disclosing that it is, in fact their website. Although the disclosure thing is more towards if you are sponsored by/are paid to promote something, though I believe TMarTn and Syndicate were probably trying to exploit the gray area that creates since I don't think the law says anything about promoting things you own and not making it clear/hiding the fact that that you're promoting you're own business.

And then they got caught and a shitstorm happened.
