The U.S. has carried out at least 25 intelligence-gathering flights near the coast of Cuba since early February using both manned aircraft and drones, according to CNN, citing Flightradar24 data.️ Most of the missions were conducted near Havana and Santiago de Cuba, with some flights operating within 40 miles of the Cuban coastline.

Artillery units of the Cuban “Revolutionary Armed Forces” conducted military drills as part of combat preparations.

Units used “OBÚS-AP Jupiter-II” howitzers (based on 122mm D-30A howitzers) and BM-21 Multiple Rocket Launcher with 9M22U pattern rockets.

Who is this even for? They’re firing artillery from the 60s and it’s not one of those Cold War pieces that still feels impressive

It's to show their population that their military can still do basic things like procure enough fuel for their trucks to drive out of the garage and fire some practice rounds. It's not meant for us. Venezuela did the same thing and it provided many a chuckle for us in the thread. I doubt Cuba can top giving AK-103s to obese goblinas or having their defense minister have flightradar24 projected on the wall behind them in an official photo.

Cuba is out of diesel and fuel oil. Blackouts are nearly 24/7 in many parts of Havana.
Imagine being in the Navy and not really being asked to do much since Desert Storm or OIF, outside of running the Marines around to various areas, hanging around in the Pacific, or chasing pirates, and all of a sudden you've become the most important branch of the Armed Forces because Trump discovered that he can use you to actually carry out old-school naval blockades like it's the 19th Century.

Unsure if anyone has pointed this out and if so I apologise, but is this possibly another reason why Der Orange Fuhrer may also not be in any rush to open up one of the gates of hormuz? The squeeze on oil supplies is just wreaking havoc with turd-world shitholes like Cuba and they can just tighten the clamps in many other ways on top of the energy crisis too? Crush Iran and get a 2-4-1 deal with Cuba as well?

The Straight of Homoz could be open tomorrow and hundreds of tankers going through it every hour and it still wouldn't help Cuba. The US blockade of them specifically prohibits imports of fuel.

They're nothing short of fawning over any Islamist that comes along. It's extremely telling how they're always deriding Kim for being "crazy," but how DARE you criticize erratic muslim ideas.

It's been that way ever since 9-11. They were very harshly criticizing the Taliban in 2001, and then everything flipped when Al Qaeda knocked down their ugly towers. Suddenly saying women shouldn't be treated as livestock was Islamophobia, and eating bacon in Mahmoud's sight was a hate crime.

Not much of a riddle. They're sniveling cowards, already convinced of their own defeat and seeking to placate their new masters. When you look at the last 25 years of lefty doublespeak in the Anglosphere and Western Europe, it all makes a lot more sense when you see they surrendered and started trying to oay jizya in September 2001.
the Islamic governments need American support to continue in Europe.

The U.S. military and intelligence agencies have expanded surveillance operations around Cuba in recent weeks, deploying aircraft including the P-8 Poseidon, RC-135, and MQ-4C Triton as part of what officials expect to become a broader U.S. military buildup in the Caribbean, according to NYT.

➡️ The missions are intended to gather intelligence and increase political pressure on Cuba rather than signal an imminent invasion.

No power means no radars, no comms,no lights, no hardware mobilization.

I think Cuba will be a much bigger operation, with Venezuela they had to hold back somewhat thanks to the oilfields, so they had to make a deal with la mona. But with Cuba there is no reason to not make every single one of them hang from under a bridge.
