Oh! Him singing over a Tori Amos song in that sonee tomgirl album. That surprised me.
I liked him singing "Johnny Are You Queer" by Josie Cotton. Given being from Valley Girl helps but the fact that he could never properly say "queer" made it for me. Like somehow saying the word would somehow make him even less manly.

I'm pretty sure I picked that song. It was hilarious how it affected Chris. He was so concerned that this imaginary Johnny might be gay. As far as his singing went, he managed to get "queer" out, but he couldn't even say gay.

That was a pretty great choice, if I do say so myself. :tomgirl:

I totally forgot his rant against Johnny possibly being gay. Totally goes off script and goes on about this imaginary Johnny. Good stuff.

At one point he talked about being muddled or something and said, "Old gray matter ain't what it used to be." That's actually extremely clever. It's a play on the (very) old song lyric Old gray mare she ain't what she used to be. It references the brain's gray matter, jokes that it's deteriorating, and is a superb play on words. My only guess is that Bob said it a lot when he was confused, and that Chris used it without awareness of its full meaning. Though if he did fully understand it, I congratulate him and give him my Cub Scout salute.

Why is OP so impressed that Chris knows Kafka?
Remember how he thought To Kill a Mockingbird was about how George had to put up with Lenny?

All Chris knows about Kafka is that he wrote the Wizard of Oz.

I love this YouTube comment on the performance:

I think the original is about some girl wondering if her boyfriend is gay. Here, Chris takes the role of some nosy guy speaking to Johnny on the girlfriend's behalf for...some reason.

There's no way he came up with it on his own. It's probably some joke from some lame old show for lame old folks.

Or he only remembers Kafka because it sounds like one of the many nonsense words he himself comes up with. And then he could conveniently Google to see what he needed to know.

Also, don't forget.
He remembers Kafka.....as the End Level Boss in Final Fantasy VI, and he is somehow related to one of his hated Manajerk Oppressors, Scotpalazzo.

That's kind of cool that Chris read Kafka, even if it was just one story. Mostly because I went to a good school, but we never really read anything outside of American or British literature, so it's cool that Chris was exposed to European authors. I didn't read Kafka until years later when I just decided to read some of his stories on my own.

There's an episode of Home Movies dealing with Kafka's Metamorphosis. I'd wager that 95% of what Chris knows about it comes from that episode.
