The internet has been completely altered intentionally. It's because they removed any idea that the internet could naturally lead you to a site or topic. We know search engines will intentionally push certain results first, social media is designed to force politics down your throat, and there are actual paid shills who are meant to help in that regard. Flash is dead and internet dating went from being a punchline to being one of the most common ways to find a relationship. The internet has successfully become a part of your life and most people are trying to make it take up as much of your life as possible.

If you read what banks and venture capital thought of the internet in the 1990s and early 2000s, it was basically to usher in a progressive, multicultural utopia. Why else did they lend trillions of dollars to companies like the FAANGs? It sure as fuck wasn’t to preserve the right to call someone a nigger online.

By having this virtual world, we now have several companies worth over a trillion dollars and no method to regulate them or hold them accountable. So they do whatever the fuck they want, which is a whole new game that the robber barons of 100-150 years ago would be amazed. Since it is headed by people the banks recommend or at least approve, these unaccountable trillion dollar corporations are pushing left wing neoliberalism.
