So, some of our lovely cows who are trannis get various surgeries in the attempt to change their gender. I have seen the results here, and it seems the outcome goes from bad to horrific. I also get the impression, that perhaps the full picture is not presented here. What I wonder is: How far has the techniques and technology (the best available anno 2022) come? How close to a facsimile of a woman (or a man)? But also, what is the more common outcome? How expensive are the surgeries and I wonder, what kind of money/assets/options does your typical/average tranny posses?

I figured it might be nice to get a good idea of this, cause people get upset when you say that inverting your dick into a hole is crazy. Sorry if this is the wrong sub for this kind of post.

The facial/top transitions work a lot better when the person already has some features that lend themselves well to looking like the opposite sex. Troons look ugly as fuck is when they are very obviously the birth sex.

It's becoming more common today to see people transitioning who could literally never pass as the opposite sex. Most can never pass because height/bone structure doesn't lie. A tiny manlet with thin features going MtF will pass a hell of a lot better than a 6'8'' troon with a Hapsburg jaw. Or vice versa, a really tall butch dyke could pass way better as FtM than a 5'2'' female twig. (Looking at you Ellen/Elliot Page)

As for bottom surgery, the technology is crude. The best options are literally a gamble. Genital surgery might work well enough for pleasurable sex and there are some OK looking examples, and tons of horrifically butchered looking examples. More often than not, surgery results in tons of complications like: a loss of sexual feeling, urinary problems, never-ending infections, and, oh, also being completely sterilized.

Going trans is pretty impractical from the reproductive standpoint because if you actually get the bottom surgery, you can never have a child naturally and artificial methods are insanely expensive.

Also a lot of people don't pass from the personality stand point. You can easily clock troons through the Internet by text alone. Lots of MtF troons are very clearly male incels because they have obsessions with hobbies that are almost exclusively male, like obscure game collections, massive anime libraries, coding, and anything else that requires you to absolutely avoid touching grass for weeks at a time.

If you're referring to the "SRS and GRS surgeons and associated horrors", that one seemed a bit biased towards the most outrageous examples, with many examples of poor trannies going for cheap solutions. I'm kind of wondering what the best case outcomes are and how realistic these outcomes are (in particular data) for your typical western tranny. I could be wrong or have missed it last I read the thread and maybe this question does belong there.

The average person has very little understanding of the medical world and it's capabilities. They put an insane amount of delusional trust into doctors, as if they are super human gods with an IQ of 400. The reality is they are regular people who fuck up a lot and still only have a limited understanding of the human body. They make mistakes all the time. Doctors who are willing to mutilate genitals are the worst of all, egotistical enough to attempt experimental butchering that they know will cause harm.

Also there's a bit of a perfect storm going on:

A) Surgeons overwhelmingly have psychopathic and Dark Triad traits - its a requirement for the profession overall, to be able to slice into a living person and defile a body

B) That same personality type, when realising that there is money to be made in a certain operation (yeeting the teets seems to be a growth industry) can easily put aside the thought of morality and jump onto Tik Tok and offer body defilement for the low, low cost of over $9000
 
I have a friend who unironically thinks that trannies can get a magic surgery that makes them having working genitals. It's crazy how little people understand about the human body and medical tech.
 
In some countries SRS is more advanced (see: Thailand, Germany) but in others it is absolute ass (see: America). Undertaking these surgeries sterilizes you. It also makes you a medical patient for the rest of your life. Depending on how much money you or your medical insurance is willing to pay, you get good results.

‘Good results’ still aren't a working set of genitalia. A transwoman with a neovagina by a reputable surgeon will have at least two surgeries. One surgery is to get it to stop looking like a penis. The revision is to do everything else, like making sure you can piss without pain. The time before this second surgery is painful, but after the revision the pain stops.

What they do to transmen seeking SRS is so unprofessional and unethical, Mengele would have loved it. That's hyperbole, if you can't tell. The female genitalia is under-researched. You try to turn genitalia you don't understand into something else. Of that, I have never heard positive reports in real life, only seen online coping. Presumably, making something that mimics a vagina is easier than doing the reverse.

As long as you don’t go to some surgeon from Mexico or, heaven forbid, California, you will survive surgery and after a couple months be pain and penis free. Whether you will be happy is the other question. I doubt surgery, let alone one that completely changes an integral part of your body, can do that.

But I’m a sperg on the Internet who likes run-on sentences too much. That's the scope as far as I can tell.

The latest neovagina development seems to be sigmoid vaginoplasty, I may be wrong. For transmen the new trend is to ask to have your nipples removed wholesale in mastectomy. Penoid construction (phalloplasty) vs metoidioplasty seems to be an ongoing subject, I'm not sure which will come out on top. I hope neither.

All of the problems associated with transitioning would go away if it was literally possible to give someone functional genitals of their opposite sex, and to completely re-shape their entire skeleton (wide hips vs wide shoulders). The fact is we are no where near that level of flawlessness, and transitioning is a very serious decision that can result in looking neither like the desired sex nor the birth sex.

I'd say a big part that pairs with it too is what drives ethical research. People care about transplanting life-saving things like hearts. The great cosmetic surgeons are perfecting their craft correcting horrific accidents as much as they can, not causing them. The general results cataloged here should make it apparent to anyone that trying to have an academic discussion about this would be like comparing/contrasting the surgeon-in-a-van in some alley vs. a horse vet.

3D print the genitals, either using the mental patient's original cells or genetically altered ones. Uterus transplants are being experimented with right now, so try growing one of those too. For the skeleton, identify the minimum amount of bones that should be replaced to get 90% of the effect, then swap them out. Good luck with the ligaments. Alternatively, grow an entire body, pieced together in parts to make it faster and avoid ethics issues, and move the brain into the new body.

It's possible that trannies getting their surgery done in the late 2100s, who are also asteroid mining trillionaires, could get a much better result than what trannies get with today's barbaric surgeries.

You understand just how much this tech is in it's infancy right? It's not extruding plastic or clicking cells together like lego. It's more in the stage where it's notable when they get one type of cell to connect reliably with another type. The most promising developments also have implications that are much bigger than troon surgery, in terms of advancing technology, helping people, and making money. Why would I sell you my stem cells for a surgery that costs half of what a single round of the treatment I have ready costs?
