"Current year" terms that piss you off

Lately, "democracy" and all its variant phrases: "upholding democracy", "threat to democracy", and so on.

"Democracy" -- as used by the govt/corp/media axis -- essentially means rule by oligarchs, justified under the pretense that "the people" appointed them. Thus, upholding democracy means the corporate state retains or grows in power, while a threat to democracy is anything that confronts the liberal/neocon DC swamp ass mafia.

Literally, it's 2021 and we're still doing this?
Yeah. It sucks, huh? Unless some drastic, unexpected catastrophe happens, then this looks like the way things will be for quite some time. Unfortunately.

One current year phrase that has gotten under my skin is this: "We still have work to do!"

Outside the obvious problems that are either already fixed or negligible now, what else is there to do? What more could possibly be done to make all the oppressed peoples happy? Enough will never be enough and that's fucking exhausting.

"Triggered"
I feel so bad for people with PTSD, tourettes or other mental illnesses/disabilities with "triggers". You literally can't bring that shit up in a therapist's office without sounding like a complete fucking idiot.
Both sides ruined it: Tumblrites made it so every slight is a "trigger", and rightwingers made it so everytime someone is upset they're "LOL TRIGGERED!!!" The real meaning of the word is now lost, and the people who needed it most are without words to describe what they're going through without sounding retarded.
This was always a little funny to me, specifically the "POC" part - There are albino black people who are very visibly ethnic, but are not coloured. "Are they white?" "No, because they're ethnically black." "But they're not coloured!" Hilarity always ensues. People also love to forget that in the US and Canada at least that we had Japanese internment camps and many asians (not necessarily JPN) are still obviously affected by racism. Then you have polynesians, southeast asians, white africans... these people aren't included in "POC" though, nonetheless "BIPOC"

Such a silly word to mean "most oppressed coloured people" when some of them aren't even coloured. Most full-blooded natives where I live look almost completely white!

Why is the term colored people "offensive and racist" but the term people of color isn't?

They are the same retards who claim its "racist" to say "This marker is Black" and claim nationality is a race :story:.

They sound just like stereotypical medieval peasantry when they go "uhhhhhh.....THAT's [Shutdown discussion word or term here]"

Atlas really does shrug and do a pose.

I guess it's the history. The term "colored" on it's own has been used in terms that didn't really describe non whites in the best terms. POC has a better historical context i.e: "free people of color".
Look at countries like South Africa, people use the term colored people all the time.

“We’re giddy with glee that you just caved in to our recent demand, now wait while we think up our next demand.”

Remember, this is thoroughly the fault of SJWs claiming PTSD from mean comments and abusing the idea of trigger warnings into the ground. The use of "Triggered" as lingo for being upset is because of how badly Tumblr had maimed the concept.

"Yeet"
This guy I worked with would say it all the time. Wanted to call him a retard but I worked for globohomos and didn't want to get fired.
This along with other co-opted ghetto black terms like 'glizzy' for hot dog or 'strapped' for armed. They always sound retarded in regular speech that isn't ebonics and 9 times out of 10 it's always being pushed by some white kids who think they're cool for spamming them or think something is automatically funny by including it.

Glizzy? Who fucking says that? If someone asked for a "glizzy," I'd think they wanted me to cum on their face.

Thank you for saving me from an awkward lunch hour.

Well the term from what I observe nowadays is ironically Tumblrites using the word to make fun of rightwingers being upset especially when these rightwingers used the term so it now comes full circle.

It also doesn't make it any better that the word has became a common meme thanks to the exploitable image (you should know what it is: the yellow striped horizontal background with "TRIGGERED" being the black text on top) that we've seen a million times already.
