(Context)

Is Steven King that hard to read? For context, I struggle a bit with Lovecraft, but I’ve been on a Robert E Howard kick lately, and he doesn’t strike me as that hard to understand. I’m also an early zoomer.
Bit late but absolutely not at all hard to read. In fact, you'll probably be bored out of your mind if you're reading Howard and Lovecraft already.
King is a hack with a few literary tricks who got lucky and developed a social media addiction. He also has a tendency to let his books run on and on and on, and after reading the extended cut of The Stand I can see why the editors took a chainsaw to it.

All said, I'd sooner read goosebumps than another King book, if I'm being completely honest. At least then I know it's intended to be cheap shlock instead of a coke bender disguised as a novel.

I recommend Harry Harrison, man spins fantastic classic sci-fi yarns.

iirc it's a machine used in wintery, rural places like Russia and Sweden to blast kiddos with artificial light since they often suffer vitamin deficiencies naturally due to the short days for a good part of the year. Or at least it's something similar to that, Google offers more traditional looking UV lamps when I search the subject, but apparently there are also ear/nose/throat specific devices too for fighting off illness judging by this source.
It's for throat/tonsil etc infections, remember using one as a kid. don't remember if it helped or not.
