I was referring more to Exceedraft, but these are kids shows so the intent behind isn't often as silly as it might read to adults, and you have to parse a layer of "not Japan" so it would be like an American kids show presenting Odor Nobunaga, revived zombie Japanese warlord who's stinky
yeah the kid is supposed to mostly take him as a threat while an adult might chuckle at the pun

I mean that was in the 70s though so I bet a lot of people didn't like seeing a reference to hitler on a tv show aimed at their kids and reminding them of the war in the process.

from what I gather in Japan that was a very regrettable war
because they didn't win

that's about it for really being big mad one way or the other


iirc there IS an Ultra Seven episode that was pulled from reruns because it implied survivors of atomic bombs crave the blood of the innocent
fortunately the audio was saved and rejoined to a TNT dub episode of it
