Fully delitized.

A little bit, yes. You're not the first to make the bowling ball comparison. Except the 'eye' holes werent's side by side nor the same size. infact there were no eye holes. There were just....holes. But it's head was damn near that oversize to the body.

Here's a decent image showing somewhat less advanced cyclopia. Basically, the eyes don't separate properly so you get a cyclops-like appearance. The brain also fails to develop its hemispheres, so fortunately (depending on how you look at it), the child is not alive.
Fun fact: You can unironically blame Sonic Hedgehog for this disorder.
As far as cogenital disorders goes, that's nothing. I took developmental biology last semester, and the teacher would often flip to a really graphic slide without warning. I have a pretty good tolerance for this kind of stuff, but some of my classmates didn't take it as well.Holy shitballs this thread has gone thermonuclear since I escalated last week.THAT is fucking horrible, fam! I am impressed, and yet disgusted with us all.
If I had to throw out a wild guess based on your description, I'd say it was a combination of iniencephaly (large skull and malformed cervical spine), ethmocephaly (holoprosencephaly without nose formation), and complete anophthalmia (absence of both eyeballs). I'm probably wrong, but all three have been linked to a similar cause (trisomy 13) so I could theoretically see them being co-morbid.All are horrifying, none are close to what I saw. I've honestly never seen anything like what I saw that day before, or expect to ever again.
If you've ever seen the movie Princess Mononoke, the little forest spirit guys (kodamas) are probably the closest, except no nose and no symmetry where the 3 holes were. Like this without cutely lining up.

Now plant that head on a human baby but larger compared to the body and imagine the reaction seeing that unprepared.

This is the worst thing I remember seeing in that class. It's called craniorachischisis, and is caused by the complete failure of the neural tube to close. Again, thank (a lack of) sonic hedgehog.

Thanks.
