CVE-2024-38063 - Or, IPv6 fucks everyone again, and still nobody actually uses it

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Rate me dumb but I can't find the update in Windows Update even while "searching for updates", perhaps Windows updated behind my back or do I need to look elsewhere in the config menu?
Is it this update or am I cyberfucked?
Yes, it's included in the latest monthly rollup that dropped a few days ago. Windows stopped providing individual patches to users by default a long time ago, you're getting the rollup blobs unless you're running a really specific setup.

I sure am glad my ISP doesn't provide IPv6 so I disabled it on my router anyway.

EDIT: if anyone else can't updoot for whatever reason, disable IPv6 on your networking controller, not on windows firewall.

Thanks. I like to think i am not too bad with computers but this stuff is above my level of knowledge. I couldn't update my desktop, showed as up to date, but my laptop showed an avaible update. I deactivated IPv6 according to that link, i checked ipleak.net beforehand (only way i know to check the IPv stuff) and it showed me IPv4 as prefered with no fallback on desktop and IPv6 on laptop with IPv4 as fallback. Now it shows IPv4 on both with the IPv6 test as "unreachable". Is there anything else i need to do? Both run with Mullvad VPN enabled, i don't know if that is important or matters here.

Edit: Win 10 on both.

This is for windows 10 btw. I have windows 11, so it literally wont let me update that shit. I just gotta wait i guess, i already tried lol. EDIT: i am retarded i already got the update yesterday lol

Serious question: why do people use Windows at home? Games? Drivers?
Games, what you know, and one weird old piece of software are top of the list.

I don’t even know what the gaming situation on Mac is since they changed processors, used to be able to boot windows for them. I assume you’re fucked.

Oh no. One fag flag vs tranny coders making up entire dev teams. Anthony from LTT is literally the patron saint of ArchLinux. Come the fuck on.

What about my XP and 7 machines? Will they be affected?
This is being patched for Server 2008 which is based on Windows Vista, 7 is likely just as affected but it isn't being patched since it's past the paid ESU date and Microsoft hates you for still sticking with 7.
So are 7 users completely fucked? I have a machine with 7 on it that I still use for other things.
