Did Hal just talk about going grocery shopping for his sick wife like it's some kind of burden that he shouldn't have had to do but is only doing out of love? He could learn a few things from Chris about selflessly shopping for an immobilized loved one.

269 grand for 2 weeks in a hospital?!
I know he got insurance, but fuck.
I know public healthcare sucks horribly here, but at least it's free and universal.

Wasn't this dude a FBI informant, I can't see why his Nazi buddies would be tuning in to him

Can someone maybe summarize what was said? I don't want to listen to it but I'm curious what was mentioned.

An interesting question the host makes is whether this person [Chris] adjusts his lifestyle to live with a $1,300 income or whether he tries to move up in the world. One thing I've come to learn about Chris is he absolutely decided to adjust his lifestyle to live within his tugboat.

What's interesting though is he doesn't understand the consequences of this decision. He doesn't understand that someone in his situation -- no job or career aspirations and living a very meager lifestyle -- is a major barrier to the things he wants in life - finding his sweetheart and becoming a father. He expects the benefits of someone with a high standard of living while showing no interest to ever improve his own standard of living.

850 dollars for health insurance? For that you can get your own small village in the third world!
But yeah, Shrimp is rich guy food and New York is hideously expensive so this guy is really comparing one of the most expensive places to a more rural area.

I think Chris could go on living in Rural US though! I did my research!

Wow... I was thinking that maybe Chris really isn't lolcow status anymore and maybe he's not so bad after all. But these guys put the situation back into perspective for me. And they're right. There's no way he would survive in New York or Jersey for 1300 a month. Granted, I know he is doing pretty good on Etsy but that's only gonna last but for so long since there aren't too many tàrds with 500 to 1000 dollars laying around to give to Christine. I wonder what the cost of living in VA is?
