I think she went with him to the Graduation Party as a chaperone (like he was planning for on that concert date that never happened) and wasn't his actual "date". At least I hope not. Can you imagine how retarded everyone else must have thought he was for bringing his mom at 18!?
I hope she signed up as a school chaperone and didn't go with a ticket as his date. It's just beyond pathetic. Maybe she wouldn't let him go alone.

I agree. It's far too casual and early in the evening to have been prom, as least as I'm familiar with. The slideshow that ended with "see you at the reunion" seems to indicate it wasn't prom. But I could be mistaken, since my school didn't hold such a dance/party (prom was the last dance of the year and was less than a month from graduation).

FWIW, looking at the photos on there, it's definitely a dance, but none of the gents are wearing tuxedos (mostly dress shirt and tie).
