Edit: Come to think of it, why were Nintendo consoles his favorite anyways? This predates Pokemon, and the only time he ever mentioned Mario was to say that Mario is totally uncool and lame next to Sonic. And he's never indicated an interest in Nintendo franchises that aren't Pokemon anyways.
He liked Animal Crossing way more than any normal person. He also liked Mario Kart. Those are the only ones I can think of off of the top of my head.

It's also important to consider that Nintendo was the only option one really had back in the day if you wanted to play handheld games (Sega's GameGear was pretty much an utter failure).

This is in the mid-90's though. Animal Crossing didn't exist yet (neither did Animal Forest for that matter). He would've been spergin' over Mario Kart 64, but beyond that I don't know why he would've wanted a Nintendo 64 when his life basically revolved around Sonic.

He played Super Mario 64 a lot more than I would've expected.

Mario 64 was a huge thing back then. Plus it was very common to have kiosks to play it in all kinds of stores (rather than, say Babbages or vidya only places) like Target where you could play it. I know that's how I got hooked bad on getting an n64 before it was released. I could easily see barb dropping him off for free babysitting to play it many times, making it a must have for him.

He owned the Sega CD and the 32X, the Genesis console upgrades. They weren't exactly popular. I can't remember if he owned a Sega Saturn or not, but there was no traditional Sonic game for it. In order to get through the Sonic drought, Chris took up Mario 64. I mean, his autistic mind probably latched onto the 64 bit tag line (twice as many bits as Sega!!) and Mario 64 is a really great game. His brand loyalty to Sonic made him a quiet Mario fan, but he continues to enjoy Mario games to this day. He doesn't love Mario as much as he loves Sonic. Chris wouldn't spoon with Mario.

Barb's favorite free babysitter was Toys-R-Us. Chris was absolutely the kid who hogged the demo game(s) for hours at a time. And through his teen years as well for that matter.

I'm guessing that is a letter from Chris to Nintendo Power, back when they would encourage and print decorated fan envelopes in the letters section, and Chris has plastered Sonic all over it well before Nintendo and Sega cozied up to each other so clearly he's a moron if he thinks they'll print that.

Gameboy was cheaper than GameGear, so Borb bought him a Gameboy

Is that the same frige that's currently out in the front yard?

This was when he was begging Nintendo to publish Sonic games. Check out the fake packaging he drew. He clearly thought if begged asked nicely they would listen to him, Christian Weston Chandler, Autistic, and Official World's Biggest and Greatest Loyal Sonic Fan, they would do it just for him.

Where have I seen this before? Oh, yeah...

Is it just me, or is he more lusty over the legos than Anna?

God DAMN that girl in the orange Sunkist shirt is fucking hot! I'd bet Chris can't tell how much more attractive she is than Anna. What the fuck is she doing hanging out with Chris?

Creepiest person award. I assume he was doing it jest but fuck. Could NOT get creepier.

I wonder what those other folks thought about Chrissy. He was swimming in sweethearts (aside from Ann). Chris would have been spitting sooooOoOoOoOo much game if that JERK wasn't there.

Actually, they're all really cute. It's both hilarious and tragic that Chris couldn't grasp how he didn't have a shot with any of them. To their credit, they all manage to avoid having the look of resenting disgust that the gal-pals had. In every single photo.

Take a minute and compare these two pictures.

There might have been external changes, but the Chris you see on the bottom is for all intents exactly the one you see on top.

Wow, the first pic is pretty cute, but the second one reminds me of an autistic Norman Bates.
