Jimmy Wichard always reminded me of Gabe Newell. Like Chris, he also loves MLP and hasn't released the next installment of a beloved series within appropriate time. Of course, Half-Life is a good video game series and Chris would hate Gaben for being a former Microsoft employee.

Chris is only 5'10", right? If so, he might have some trouble (not awful trouble, but some) finding jeans of the right length, especially shopping at Goodwill. Maybe he or Barb accidentally discovered that it was marginally easier finding jeans that weren't overly long if he got girl ones? My dad was the same height and was always stepping on the back hem of his jeans because he was an odd-size inseam.

I think it's much more likely, given his later proclivities, that this was an early expression (perhaps subconscious) of his female gender identity. If you look at the entire set of these sexy photos that he put on MySpace, it's clear that he is mimicking female models' poses.
