The thing is that there's no history behind this drawing. I'd pay maybe $30 for the Ironed Front Flat, and Steel-Plated/ Bolted -heart drawing. Shit, I might even go as high as $50 for the shards of Narsil shreds of the original ShecameforCWC. But this is nothing. It has no story. It's only a part of "Christory" because of the ridiculous eBay auction that's currently going on. It's a footnote, and I wouldn't pay more than $5 for it.

I Could see spending $5 on a CWC artwork. Not very much, by the score of things, but probably far more than most could get out of the effort he's presented.

I've shared some information about CWC with my friends and I think they'd enjoy looking at it enough to be worthwhile at that price. Others could go higher, but I think a round of McDs is about the best he's going to get out of yours truly.

Put it this way: Chris' thousand dollar eBay listing for some drawing of Sonichu is, in my opinion, overpriced by at least $999.75 - even for "original" artwork by "our autistic hero".

The more Chris whines about he and his "72 year old mother" needing the money, the less inclined I am to give him a penny for any original work that he's created.

Chris logs in to the forum. He sees a thread about a cwcki auction, and at the top, a poll!

"Those dang dirty trolls slanderin' mah artwork. but six would pay MORE than $1000. Hmm..."

Relisted: $2000 NO HAGGLE

Selling fifty drawings at twenty a piece actually would actually be a solid way for him to earn that $1,000. I think at that price it would meet the demand quite well as there are already well over fifty posters saying they would pay that much for one. Or hell, 20 drawings at $50 for that matter going by the poll.

But of course Chris sitting down and spending a 9-5 shift drawing Sonichu for a week to cover these multiple drawings is going far beyond his available stress limit. And that's being generous and assuming each one takes 3-4 hours. Someone send that man some adderall.
Mmyeah but runnin' da business is stressful.

I might pay between $30-$40 for a new original. Maybe more for actual production artwork, or something Christorically significant (SheCameForCWC, the "Virginia is for Virgins" or "Zap to the Extreme!" Sonichu covers). But I collect weird things (I paid $40 for a 1st ed. AD&D PHB and Keep on the Borderlands at a convention once).

This is what makes Chris's stupid "hard lining" so, well, retarded. I'd probably pay $30 for an original drawing. Hell, I just spent $30 on a painting for my apartment just because I liked the way it looked over my shelves. People in this "demographic" will blow $30 on "just because" stuff, but not much more than that. Chris is putting a fine art price on something he's trying to sell to us.

I think I know of a way for Chris to make money. He should totally hold tours of his house and name it "Casa Chandler de la Muerte." He won't even need to redecorate his house or anything, since it looks terrifying enough.

Note: Apologies to anyone who knows Spanish. Please don't be mad at me.

I think it would be 'Del Muerte', but I'm not sure -- SnowKitten would know. Regardless, I laughed like hell when I read it.

I voted $100 or less, but that's including postage, which would probably be around $25 to where I live.

I don't care that the money would go on Lego - most of the concerts I go to, the money goes straight up the noses of the band and promoters - Lego would be a step up.

I would also be happy to go in on a collective forums effort to buy the drawing and turn it into some kind of banner or standard for us all. The obvious considerations would be who actually keeps hold of it and how we decide what...alterations we make to it.
