99% of any games file size is assets. I have no idea why a day 1 patch is this big unless it adds new content, or it could be that someone fucked up and packaged the entire game in the day 1 patch.
Entirely possible they did. I remember modding Witcher 3 when it first came out and the file structure/packaging was such a joke that to create a mod that edited one line to increase carry capacity would have required sharing a file that was multiple GBs in size

My question now is - if the game is successful and with the endings already spoiled - how the hell are they gonna implement DLC into the story? With any major AAA game nowadays it's a given due to those sweet, sweet shekels and if your character dies in the end and you can't continue the game what other choice do we have besides starting a new one? How are they gonna sell DLC when we all know full well our character's fate so what's the point in even buying/pirating/playing it?
It's on GOG so 1.0 will be floating around forever in a bit under 10 hours. I predict a 'Cyberpunk 2077 becomes most pirated game of 2020' headline in early January from the journos.
I would think that the GOG release will already incorporate the day 0/day 1 patch. Wouldn't make much sense for them to have you download them separately. So the original version would not be available. But maybe I'm wrong.
So I am still unsure what ending actually results in you being able to continue past the credits. Some have suggested the Johnny Silverhand take over ending is what allows this, but I haven't found any clear answers. Can someone whose seen some of the more recent leaks chime in on this? I want to make sure I get the ending which allows me to continue past the credits.
Slightly off topic from the current discussion but I had a thought the other day after seeing those Resetera threads. Those threads read to me - in spirit - exactly like a company that Ayn Rand described in one of her novels, a company that was run purely on the ideals of communism/social justice aka "from each according to his ability, to each according to his need", where the most privileged/capable would have to do all the work whilst the wages were according to "needs", so people who had relatives who were invalids etc all got the biggest chunk of the money without even contributing anything and the hardest working people didn't get almost anything because "they already had enough". What makes this remarkable is that probably even Ayn herself meant it to be an exaggeration and no sane person at the time would have thought it to be a realistic example of what can happen, more of a half comical caricature. And yet on Resetera you literally have people saying "your opinion on this doesn't matter unless you're trans" and banning anyone over the tiniest transgressions. I know it's not the exact same scenario, but I can totally imagine that if the Resetera guys ran a company, they might run it like that company in the novel.

I feel like if CDPR were going to grovel to a female audience they should've just bitten the bullet and made Keanu fuckable. Braindancing is a thing in this verse so it wouldn't have been too much of a stretch - plus it would've made for an interesting conflict. I do know that a big question shortly after the E3 2018 reveal was whether or not Johnny was romanceable and they shot that down pretty quick due to his relationship with Alt Cunningham, though I'm not sure why they even bothered anymore due to the fact Johnny apparently takes over your body at one point to go on a date with Rogue in a sidequest. Sure sounds a Hell of a lot more interesting than any of the other options we know of so far.

In all honesty, Far Cry 5's antagonists were not interactable outside of cutscenes and their boss battles, but that didn't stop the fem-base from creating their own OCs, zines, and fanfictions about their characters falling in love with literal sociopaths in the two years since the game released.

I'm not going to powerlevel further but in my professional experience this does happen and the absolute giveaway that there's this sort of fuckery going on is inconsistent art direction in ingame assets. The UI doesn't count for this because directors who know what's up lure the design-by-committee crowd into warring over what the pause menus look like rather than the actual game (this has a side effect of occupying a LOT of their time as requirements change and things need to be moved around or accommodated for in the menus as systems change).
If you want to diagnose wokeshit in 30 seconds or less look for environmental props that don't fit their surroundings and aren't likely to be sourced from stock asset packs. This is the first game I've seen where it's blatant enough that the props are actual dildos, though.

In Fallout3 you die in the end of the main story line, but if you have DLC you are miraculously get dragged out and resurrected by the Brotherhood of Steel, so if they want DLC they cant pull a bigger ass-pull than that.
It could just be explained away via cultural degradation, or that 'beautiful' augmentations are intentionally priced beyond the means of the average citizen as status symbols, and that cheaper augmentations could potentially fall into the uncanny valley.
