Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

Sorry I'm a little retarded. Yeah surely switching out assets like that would require more processing power, so it's not even an optimization... I have no idea what they were thinking

Also who the hell okay'd this?

This is borderline Hunt Down The Freeman tier voice acting
Wtf is up with this bitches' accent? Sounds like shes attempting some kind of high class british accent but then drops it every other line. Feel bad for the real voice actors in the game. From what I've seen theres a lot of good work, but people will remember stuff like this and wooden board Keanu.

TBH this shouldn't have been released on the PS4 or XBox One.
My kid is playing it on his XBox One, I'm guessing he's about a quarter way through the Corpo character run on Normal. Didn't look all that bad, or at any rate no worse than a typical XBox One game when I've sat down to watch him. He says it does glitch but tends to recover pretty quickly. Took like two hours to install the two disks on the console, though that might have been a function of my crappy internet more than anything else.

FWIW, he's picking up and putting it down like he's not all that into it, despite begging his mother to pre-order it back in the Summer sometime. Dunno what he was expecting, but I don't think his expectations have been met. He's currently chatting with friends about setting up more D&D sessions on Discord.

The pre-order bonus was this gay plastic necklace that vaguely reminded me of a Baphomet (the CDPR logo maybe?) , an 8 1/2" x 11" map of the city (folded to fit in the XBox case) and a booklet that was kinda meh, even as these sort of things go. Totally worth parting with $60 plus sales tax six months before release. 🙄

Eliminate all Sydney slags.

This fuckin AI man. You can just sit outside a door and the enemies will come through the door one at a time and let you headshot them.

Also I made stealth/cool a dump state and it doesn't fucking matter. I'm straight up invisible to npcs the second I crouch.

Patch 1.04 REALLY fucked up texture draw. I'm noticing blurry textures here and there and its fucking making my OCD go nuts.

Though even with all its flaws, it is enjoyable. I stand by that it is ok, and with mods and heavy patching it'll be good. I still feel like $45 is the right price for it.

Yeah, the AI is notoriously not smart. Also stealth is difficult because the so-called 'Lines of Sight' are not correct on the mini-map and enemies will see you from behind obstacles and instantly get alerted if there's a sliver of you. Non-lethal gameplay is lazy as fuck as you just put a mod in for non-lethal. Instead of having non-lethal ammo types and shit like that (can't wait for mods to add ammo types). They'll also hack you from like 500 meters away through a ton of shit, which you can't do. Its really annoying when you use 'I Spy' to see someone hacking you and they're half-way across the map. There's a lot of sloppy fixes to their bad AI.

Also you need to run like 1 km away for AI to not be alerted. Stealth is really an afterthought, not like any of the Deus Ex games or Hitman. Stealth works if you can 100% cheese it or do it at the beginning.

It seems the PS4 is the main offender of glitches.

I think the biggest problem is CD Projekt hyped it up massively. "THIS WILL BET THE BE THE BE THE BESTEST GAME EVAR MADE" and it turns out, whoops its just ok. It feels like it needed 6 months to a year more in the cooker. The problem was they announced the fucking thing 7 years ago. They should not have done that. They made big mistakes like doing stupid shit by paying random streamers to be in their game and shelling out far too much money to have a celebrity in their game.

And I know not releasing on current gen would take a huge hit. It just seems that its rep is coming from being bugged.

Just an idea ... is it possible that a lot of the glitches (not all ofc) come down to the HDD not streaming shit fast enough to the game? If so, would be hilarious to find some old spinning rust, some literal 200 GB SATA 5400 rpm HDD and install it on it and then run it just to enjoy the glitches.

Nope, I'm running it on an SSD.

To everyone saying RDR2 runs great consoles, you were correct until the latest update for the game kind of ruined everything.

It's nowhere near as bad as this game appears to be running, but there are a considerable amount of glitches that the latest patch has brought in. It's still playable, but the AI, and graphical errors make it feel much more like the first game, or like a Bestheda one in terms of technical status.

I had issues at first but they were fixed by closing my two million window google session on my second monitor, as well as moving the game to my SSD. The game is super fucking CPU intensive, I7 9700 is my bottleneck, usually hitting 100%, even though I have only 16 gigs ram and an old 1070 in my rig.
It's sad how many distracting holes there are in the game, like fucking police spawning behind you, but its still fun and IMO worth 60.
I'm looking forward more to what modders & dlc can do to NightCity -- feels like I've bought one of those games where it's more a platform for content creation than anything else.

It's amazing how two people can play the same game but one has pop in and EVERYONE spawning & de-spawning while the other has a mostly fine experience. Hell if I open youtube up while playing the game changes from the later to the former, with NPC's acting different. I can't remember a game like this where hardware has affected gameplay so much as this. Sure graphics indirectly affect gameplay but this shit literally changes how enemies fight and NPCs spawn.

Maybe Master Chief Collection? Depending on your PC and connection stability you can get into impossible spots in multiplayer.

So I've finished the game today, boy the main the story was fucking shit. Chungus Keanu wholesome 100% voice acting was terrible, and I was more interested in the Panam Nomad group story than the main one. I remember reading an journo saying when they first played it, they only had access to 3 endings. They when they replayed it, they had 6 endings. I don't if I'm just good but I had access to all the endings, so I could pick any ending I wanted. It kinda kills replays if you can get all the endings that easy, I wasn't even hyped about this game but it still feels disappointing.

I just want Dante :(
The Keanu voice lines are so jarring they've ironically cemented him as a unique character for me.

Just finished the first big arc of the game and the scriptwriting is...pretty good so far. I'm getting a New Vegas vibe about the story, though, so it might not be THAT unique. We'll see. Glitches so far for me are a drifting inventory/journal screen, your typical enemy ragdoll silliness, and cars ramping over my car and flying out of control when there's a head on collision.

NGL that last bug is hilarious and I actively spend time trying to go slow and hit them at the right angle to launch a motherfucker.

Are there any longer side quests with plot like TW3 had? All the one's I've found so far are MMO bullshit. Ie go to x location and kill x target or collect x trinket.
