Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

@Mr. Zed da Robot Poon Fed
I can never understand casting some celebrities for video games, specifically those that don't alter their voice much.
pretty simple:
OMG DAT DUDE FROM HOUSE OF CARDS!
OMG DAT DUDE FROM GAME OF THRONES!
(no idea who the third dude was, apparently from bf4).

fwiw the used the actor itself too, so not just the voice, it's basically like hiring some celeb to promote/star in your game. cod had done that for a while, especially in zombies.

Most of the celebrity casting is to hype pre-ordering.
And by the time most people realize they've wasted their money, the publisher has moved the dev team onto the next ball numbing sequel.

I’m replaying it again and the whole atmosphere of the game of being depressing is really pulled off well. Ignoring the issues with bugs and stuff, its a very dystopian world and I fear it might happen to us. What are your thoughts on how the game world terrifies you for the real world?

Yay! I get to have a ghost Keanu follow me around and castigate me at the most awkward times!
Weird fetish but if the polacks at CDPR are into it to make a broken game about it, it's fine i guess?
Yet you made like 50 posts in this thread. Maybe hold some gay crystals or some shit to set your hibity gibity straight.
just tell him to use an anime profile picture already, way easier.

I got to the end. Finished by dying on Earth (Vs decision) and letting Johnny live. My Rogue died rip.

I haven't unlocked the other endings yet, and I though about playing with streetkid and nomad (chose corpo), but they all end the same? What's the fucking point then?

Pretty much the only replay value is to get all the achievements or a different build of sorts. They cut out a lot of stuff it seems and just went the easy route, like why do Female romances have like 10+ gigs but males only 3-4? When is Panam getting her revenge on the Kang Tao? The Mayor's murder? The slew of side gigs that ended on cliffhangers? Just seems to be par for this game.

They cut some romance for Jill or whoever; she was supposed to be bisexual, both male and female could woo her and then they cut it to be cost effective. They - journos - of course hailed this as progressive, but I think we all know why they - CDPR - actually did it.

River got the worst of those cuts though. His story just seems to jump forward awkwardly compared to the others. They could have done much more with the game with some effort but they cut corners and now this is what they put out.

There are 5 different endings I believe. (the "secret" ending not counted because it just alters the final quest where you raid Arasaka and does not actually change the ending sequence)

The only variables to the endings are fluff dialogue based on who you romance, and the calls during the end credits are different based on which sidequests you do and stuff.

All background options do throughout the whole game are offer those dialogue prompts and I think there's a single side quest exclusive to each one that is often super short. It's basically the exact same as Mass Effects background choices.

There is literally no point in replaying the game with a different background besides replaying the game. It alters so little. You're better off just watching the endings on Youtube or just finishing all side quests before entering the elevator to the restaurant.

To be fair that wasn't exactly CDPR's fault. Keanu is autistic or something and has zero inflection or emotional range.
Yeah, and the world has known this about him for decades at this point, it's practically a meme. It's their fault for using him for the role when there are probably thousands of no-names that could have done a far better job. They picked someone with start power, not someone that is a competent voice actor, rarely is that a good choice.

How fucking gay.

@X Pac Heat wow this game has 0 replay value. I'll just 100% my corpo and probably won't touch it unless new story content gets added, but I won't hold my breath on that.

you'll have to play at least twice, once as a girl and once as a boy, to get all the romance achievements.

I decided to give this shitheap a third chance and started a new game as a street kid and after the intro mission where I rescued Sandra Dorset I got the objective to call Wakando and pressing down on the D pad to answer the call crashed the game.

I'm honestly in awe, I'm no stranger to bugs Fallout New Vegas is my favorite game of all time. This is advanced fucking failure, I've been gaming for almost two decades and I don't think I've ever seen a game so bugged you can't get passed the tutorial mission without a CTD.

What the fuck even is this shit?

Last weekend I came back to the game (a save). 40GB later I was back. And damn this update changed jack shit. Map surprisingly empty, mission kinda short. Sadly potential is still wasted. Well, I have Assasin's Creed: Origin still wide open to explore and Metro: Exodus...

Other observations as of patch 1.4

Despite CDPR claiming otherwise the bug where npcs are stuck in the cower animation if you fire a gun is still there. They remain so until they despawn.

I came across multiple topless npcs and one wearing a mini dress with no underwear that was too short to cover her crotch but I can't tell if this was intentional because people in the near future have no shame or it's some sort of bug causing clothing not to render properly.

AI is still brain dead. You can win every fight by going into a building and shotgunning enemies as they funnel into the doorway one at a time at you.

A car that was on fire rolled past me which is funny but kind of sad glitch wise six months in.

The city is slightly more alive now. There are some random gang fights and hostage situations that weren't there before.

They heavily nerfed netrunning. NPC's will now detect you if you start to hack them even if you're in stealth mode and haven't been spotted. You can no longer just clear out an entire outpost by crouching and spamming suicide/shutdown quickhack.

Police still suck and spawn out of nowhere.

CDPR did manage to fix or at least lessen the npc duplication glitch. There are no longer five clones of the same npc hanging out on every street corner

Crafting has been nerfed.

@Ruin Grapevine of youtube (I'm not linking who told me this because he's an annoying shill) told me that they're supposedly expanding the modding tools for the game and they also, and this is the one I'm the most somewhat skeptical of, they're hiring dedicated modders to help with the game. Reason I'm skeptical is because I'd like to imagine that CDPR has probably had open slots in their employment roster and they applied for them and got jobs no problem because literally no one wanted to work for this company. I don't think they were called on the phone and approached by Marcin himself and asked "Hey, you want to fix our game for us?" though the idea in my head makes me laugh. Still, wish those modders the best though I'm really uncertain as to what will come about it. I also have to wonder if any of them got writing gigs for the game because I've seen how modders write and you sometimes get shit like this:
So be cautious that you might get a story even worse then the base game's.
