Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

probably the same reason 2042 is such a technical marvel - shit and/or underpaid devs. who would've guessed that if you pay your critical personnel sub-average wages and stop hiring on merit could backfire.
that's why I don't expect anything in UE either.
Who would have thought that flooding a highly technical field with unskilled pajeets and diversity hires would back fire horribly.

Old school game devs used to be software engineers. Modern game devs at best have come out of some diploma mill from some random game dev college program.

I had some time to play this weekend and decided to do the most annoying quests - the fight club ones. I remember not even bothering with them in 1.31 because of all the savescumming I had to do to win, now I'm playing a netrunner with 4 body, no combat skills and the quests feel like an actual videogame.
Things that have been changed:
-No more hitscanning
-No more endless stamina for the enemies
-Being able to break an enemy's combo
-Being able to stop an enemy when it's attacking
-Removed level scaling

Levels 1-35 all the fight club quests were marked as Very Dangerous so I went there only when they were deemed "normal". I'm sure I'm a faggot filthy casual but who the fuck cares?
With a 4 body character and no points spent into melee and no gorilla arms, punches do between 4 and 7% damage to the enemies. Crits with the Short Circuit cyberhack can take between 40 and 45%. The AI has been improved and all fights feel different:

-The Twins try a strategy of tiring you out. If one is on the left, the other one comes from the right. If one is in front and finished their combo, the other one is prepared to hit you. Their guard can be broken and their punches can be interrupted. You can tank all their hits but the second hit of the 3 hit combo usually connects through your guard. 2 hits could do me in and I was unlucky enough that they managed to hit me in succession a few times. Otherwise, once I got their pattern, they were no problem. I could even toy with them for a little while to see how the AI reacts.
-The valentino. This guys is a bruiser and even weaker than the twins. He will try to activate the sandevistan to outflank you. The only way I could dodge was with the double jump. It was kind of fun. Otherwise, I stopped his 3 hit combo with a heavy punch 100% of the time and with 2 crits he went down, he was the weakest of the group.
-Rhino: don't fuck with her. She is the only enemy I could never break the guard of. No heavy punches, no light punches, nothing. She never rushed, she never hitscanned, she slowly circled me and I didn't even bother to test if one light punch could do me in. I'm fairly sure she can break any guard. Still, they made her very slow and methodical. Dodge, dodge and dodge. I could score a few criticals with the short circut proc and that was it but she could take a lot of hits. I liked this fight the most because the AI behaved like you would expect from her, having an iron guard and finishing it all with one punch.
-Buck, the one with the rifle. He was a bit lukewarm to me. He still has a a 3 hit combo that can cover half of the arena but it's slower and you can dodge it now. His jackhammer arm is like Rhino's punch. It can go through everything so if you want to counter him, you need to do it in the first hit. He is faster than her though but nothing special. After he cheats, I jumped in the air, started hovering and cast short circuit to kill half of his crew. Good times.

I still haven't received the invitation to fight the Champion but I'm guessing he will be fast as Cezar and with Rhino's defense and strength.

Anyways, these quests finally feel fun to play and can be done with a non-specialized character. Good on CDPR, although a bit too late.

Champ's even worse than Rhino. He's a borged-to-hell professional boxer, and he's got a leaping punch that will cover the whole boxing ring you fight in, and a guard-breaking straight kick that will fuck you up. He thankfully doesn't have Sandevistan, but he takes about no damage from hits anywhere but his freshly-installed gut muscles that are still healing. Fortunately (IIRC) SC crits bypass that damage reduction, but its still going to be a hard, long slog you're gonna need to float like a butterfly and sting like a bee to win. If you can dodge his attacks eventually he'll wind up on a knee for about a second, so go to town on his head with rapid strikes to try and get crits.

I heard rumors that a future DLC is supposed to have Cop as a background. Any truth to that?

Only ask because, when I played 2020 back in the day, Cops were my favorite role.

To me that sounds like tons of fun! I don't mind a challenge as long as it fits the theme and it's not rng bullshit.

On the topic of rng I'm a bit lost on what I'm supposed to do to not get killed. I'm level 40, with 15 tech, 4 body. I craft my own gear, slap armadillo everywhere, have 1.4k armor, cataresist and pain editor (legendary both). I also have cheat death as a precaution.
I'm on judy's quest, the part with Fingers. The three thugs outside the clinic harrass me into a fight, shoot me at the same time and in the quarter of a second I lose 200 of my 320 hp.
I have no idea if I should dump a ton of points into body for survivability or still go YOLO, make reflex my dump stat and get smg points.
I'm currently running a a netrunner build. If I sneak and control the field, it's a cakewalk. But when I'm forced into a confrontation, my character gets turned into swiss cheese.

You don't need to take the front door, my man. The game's surprisingly good about giving the player alternate approaches, so why are you, as a Netrunner, bashing your head against the wall there?

But yeah, the final boss fight is good fun.

That's great advice tbh. I guess it was just hubris (just because I'm level 40 doesn't mean I'm not a squishy mage) and I was testing the waters for a Sandevistan melee charater - how to dodge bullets at close range with slow time.

Sandevistan is overrated, sadly. Barely lasts longer than Kerenzikov and you need to swap out your deck to use it. Kerenzikov+nanorelays and the cooldown ware and you can pull a Neo and hack shit. That cooldown ware is pretty much essential, IMO, if you run any ware that has a cooldown after kicking in.

For a swordsman do I need to go Sandevistan or Berserk? I haven't tried a true melee character before.

Berserk. More resistances, more healing and time slowing such as from Sandevistan and Kerenzikov affects your own move and attack speeds for melee so its only good for precision aiming and dodging. The top-tier legendary ZetaTech Mk. 5 has a cooldown of 30 seconds and a duration of 10, the top BioConductor drops that down by 30% to just above 20 seconds, and if you shove in Beast Mode you'll be at +35% to all resistances and armor, and +120% to melee damage.

Say hello to V the Ripper at that point. Badass Senatorial antagonist not included, sadly.

What with all the dumb shot CDPR is upto, it feels they all got replaced by EA-hired skinwalkers over the years...
Well, they did hire straight out of Canada and I think a good chunk came from that Mass Effect Andromeda company.

Can't be, it runs like all other proper slavic games run.

it having shit performance because Egol was busy drinking at work while browsing used Audis is what's supposed to happen.

Nah, Andromeda was pretty shit despite having a fairly easy engine compared to Red Engine. They actually had to switch to Unreal Engine 5 now because Canadians can't into code.

The industry in general is switching to Unreal 5, however it's not just limited to games but Epic is going way into promoting Unreal as a solution for special effects in Filmmaking.
