Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

It's not fun being torn apart for wandering into a bad part of town.
Get good my man. Just learn where the high level areas are. Many games that have different leveled areas (like Fallout: New Vegas), will generally drop hints that there are some areas you need to avoid on a first playthrough, by subtly encouraging you to move in certain directions. So you only end up in high level areas by going out of your way to ignore the hints the game is giving you.

Level scaling is just bullshit every time its implemented, because it either makes the game too easy, or it makes investing in a character useless, as you are never stronger or weaker than your opponents, since they are always perfectly scaled to you.

It's funny because I feel like CPDR was trying to reduce the fact that most people just ended up wallbanging people and stealthing with the Overwatch. At least tangentially that's what I heard most of my friends did.
Fortunately you can restore the piercing back to it with mods, but devs nerfing shit like that in SP games is just fucking annoying.

Yeah, New Vegas outright told you to stay away from going up north due to the dangerous critters. Fortunately there's Powder Gangers, Geckos, Coyotes, and finally some Vipers and Jackals to kill for loot and XP on your way to New Vegas.

Although fuck that giant radscorpion at the Nipton pass. Thank God I did the quest for Ranger Jackson to get those sweet AP rounds. More Mojave adds some fucking hostile Bright Followers with laser and plasma rifles at the crossroads past the curve though, which are unimaginably worse to deal with.

Finished the DLC with the songbird route, definitely feels like they wanted you to go with muh heccin celebrity given the discrepancy between loot and the anticlimactic confrontation with Reed. Good scene, but no bossfight? I thought we left Press X to kill final boss shit behind in 2013.

Still, felt like sticking a knife in the back of the FIA and using some of V's limited time on this earth to do something truly selfless for someone else was more thematically appropriate for the genre and setting than becoming a desk jockey for the NUSA.

Prior to them updating the map in 1.4 (I think it was around there; before 1.5 at least), if you hovered over the area on the map it would explicitly tell you the level of the area along with the factions, etc. It's also was kept the main story level gated for when you when to Pacifica, encouraging to do the side characters' quests or free roam gigs.

I know this is lunacy but I actually liked the cinematic conclusion of helping Songbird. I just like how quick he is to shoot you without hesitation since it's just a nice finality to his character. It's so you purposefully don't shoot him to talk it out but no, he'll just shoot you. It was a decent little subversion of expectations where dialogue just is a game over for once in the game.

Are you forgetting the confrontation immediately before where you go up against a hundred fed cocksuckers seiging the computer room? I thought that was much better than if CDPR did a redux of the Adam Smasher fight with Reed.

Yeah, it's a decent scene. I like that you can call Reed out on being a skinsuit piloted by blind loyalty to the NUSA.

Nah I get that was the giant action climax, I just didn't like how divorced it was from gameplay mechanics but that's just me.

There is the DLC and 2.0 are separate things.

Key 2.0 Changes I can think of off the top of my head:
Decided to give it a try. Not going to lie, I like the changes. Well, most of them. However my biggest complaint is still a problem and actually feels worse than it was previously. The enemies are too fucking easy. I'm playing on the hardest level possible and currently have 12 unused skillpoints/perks and I've yet to run into anyone that forces me to use more than a single heal.

Started a new run for the dlc and I’m finally getting around to the new missions. So far V’s “borked” his ribs and said “amazeballs.” Initially I hated getting girlbossed by the president but she actually helps during fights and apparently she’s a former marine so I guess V, who regularly wipes entire gangs as a solo, getting surprised and knocked down isn’t too offensive.

I see what they were going for with the level scaling, it never did make much sense that the Valentinos were arbitrarily stronger than other gangs despite not looking any more threatening (actually even less threatening than the starting Maelstrom tbh) but I would have preferred if the gangs were lightly level scaled while Militech/Arasaka and other corps were absolute powerhouses. Based on how they did the gigs that wouldn't have really been possible, though, because some earlier gigs would be near impossible with how you go up against corpos and a rebalance of gigs probably wasn't in the question.

Went on Nexus mods.
I shouldn't be surprised that they have Gay River and Lesbian Panam mods but no Straight Judy/Kerry Mod
I wonder what they'd do if I make a mod that replaces all ads with the 'Progress' flag.

It's weird, there used to be a straight romance mod for Judy because she was originally meant to be bi and they recorded all of male V's voice lines for it and left them in the game in an early version but the mod seems to have disappeared.

I'm almost 100% certain there's a console command to enable the romance option if you're playing as a dude.

Maybe for an older version of the game but, iiirc, retards ree'd at people making Judy like guys so CDPR removed the 'unused' male V lines for the romance from the game, which is when the mod seems to have disappeared

There's a save with male V banging Judy, Nexus probably would shoah any outright Judy romance mod but it might be that no one cares to make it. The Panam one hasn't even been updated for ages.

Considering this is an "RPG", this is actually the kind of event that should have multiple outcomes based on your character's level/streetcred/cyberware/etc.

Should the NUSA president be able to girlboss all over your V when you're level 60 with monkey arm implants? Probably not, but CDPR never properly accounts for any of that during any of the game, aside from maybe being able to push trashcans, open doors, or flavor text.

The extra ending unlocked by the DLC isn't a bad idea...
They're going for a Vic Mackey ending, but they fuck it up the same way they fuck up most of the game up by not really letting you affect outcomes more based on who you decide to call and what you decide to tell them.

The ending also has the problem of your character acting like their career as a merc is over, but why? Didn't you operate as a merc for 6 months with Jackie and zero implants...? You start off the game with a simple cyberdeck and no combat implants at all.

I get that you'd be depressed if they took away your sword arms, but you can still shoot people and wear sunglasses all the time.

You get jumped in an alley by two dudes who are obviously going to jump you in an alley, but only because they didn't give you back the gear that you went into surgery with. Did they lose it? Did the operation make it so you can no longer pull triggers?

None of it really works, and all feels forced. If it wasn't poorly written, it would be a pretty cool downer ending.

They also forgot that they added multiple apartments into the game. You get a message that you've been evicted from the main H10 apartment, but don't mention the other 4 that you may also own.

Guess it doesn't really matter since they half-assed those apartments anyway.

Better weapons and cyberware, girlboss mayor which you can't romance, diverse™ cast of characters courtesy of ESG, an area of the game which should've already been included in the base game and anti-climatic encounters. $30 for a content which should've been in the game, fuck those polish jews.

Just finished Phantom Liberty. I liked it, but I'm one of those people who didn't really have a lot of issues with the base game. I haven't done the new ending, but I've read up on it and I don't think I'd be happy. I mean, yeah, Cyberpunk is not a merry setting, but I think it at least one less bleak ending wouldn't have been too much to ask.

I remember looking into that a while ago. There is, or used to be, a mod that unlocks the Judy romance for a male V, but it was a horrible pain in the ass to use, because you had to install it, and then you still had to activate it at a certain point (I think right after Disasterpiece or something) via console command. I wonder what happened to it, I would have expected there to be a mirror on Basedmods, but it's not there, either.
