Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

Jumping into this thread without reading to ask how do we know this game is supposed to be good? I keep hearing everyone saying how great it's going to be, but I really doubt it what with it being current year at all. Too jaded to trust anything's going to be good nowadays.

90% hype leftover from the Witcher 3, 10% from the things CDPR released.

Mostly its just fun getting excited about things. The hype train has been going for almost a decade now.

Eh, you're leaving out a portion of the people who actually played the Cyberpunk table top game, and those whom are just into the genre in general.

You're just as bad as the Dems who say "populism" == "promising voters the things they actually want". It's not "hype", it's circumstantial evidence, and really the best type of circumstantial evidence in its favor we can have before the game is released. Everything else either comes from (in-house or third-party) shills (trailers, e-thots playing demo builds) or will be bad news (leaks, employee flight). Reputation vs leaks: this is how it should be.

I'm still on the fence of whether to buy this game. I can deal with clunky or jank if the roleplaying experience is good, I love games like Deus Ex or New Vegas or Bloodlines, but this barely looks like an RPG. It mostly looks like Cyberpunk GTA.

It's feeling like cyberwitcher 4 imo. Same flavor of dialogue systems, sidequest overload, points.. Although I hope the ending system is not as retarded as Witcher's.

i still dont know what this game is about, how it will look, how it will play, NOTHING AND PEOPLE ARE STILL HYPING FOR IT BECAUSE ITS CD PROJECT RED! seen the "gameplay footage" on youtube but its all in "alpha beta" that looks like GTA 5 with NEO-80 paint. so, who knows. (alot of forced cutscenes here, i thought we were playing a game, not a visual novel)

hell, i thought being polish, they would be defended from the globohomo brainwashing of the west but no, ITS THE FUCKING WORSE I HAVE SEEN SO FAR (even Ubisoft is not this fucking gay!) i saw the signs in the Witcher 3, but its finally gone full circle.

"edit" top hats please!

Previous CDPR games have been good. This could end up being a bad game, but previous experience is all people have to go on right now. Happens with any dev that gets a cult following.

I'm still going to give it a chance. In this instance I'm more of a fan of the genre than I am the Witcher games (I enjoyed the books more than the games for a variety of reasons. I don't even think you can consider the first Witcher a "game".). Plus CDPR have handled GoG pretty well so they don't seem to be scumshits.

Watching that recent video makes me realize I liked this style of combat in a game all the way back in 2009 when it was used in Zeno Clash, that and all the chunky boxes on screen make it feel like an fps Watch Dogs.

don't know how people feel about it here, but i'm kinda glad they removed the gender option. I'm gonna make the most feminine blonde femboy and literally no one can stop me.

It's just a slider isn't it? So your femboy would basically be a flat girl with a big clitoris right?

I don't believe so? I heard you have full control over genitals just as you would face.

I could be wrong, but from what I understand, most Character Creators limit options by gender, the Cyberpunk 2077 one doesn't. You can just have anything. Fat tits and a cock? Sure. Thick beard and long feminine hair and wide hips with giant forearms? Sure.

I could be wrong, but that was my understanding. So my character should be able to have somewhat feminine features along with a normal dick.

That's correct. There was an analysis vid where the guy was talking about how your cock would bounce when you adjusted the slider, fuckin rofl. Lemme see if I can find it.

Meh, I know the game is made for consoles but I hope the PC version will have a FoV slider and a way to not have the hands or a katana take a huge part of the screen.
I think they should have allowed people to switch between first person and third person view.

Oh, I wanted to mention. For all the people going "WHY IS THIS GAME GETTING SO MUCH HYPE AND EVERYONE THINKS IT'LL BE GOOD?"

well, the "good" is wishful thinking, but the hype? at least for me personally. Is this is a big budget game in a genre that almost never gets big budget games. triple AAA military shooter gets announced, no one really cares outside of the existing fanbase. That shit is common.

but a game all about the Cyberpunk aesthetic? When was that last released? Mankind Divided? that's why I'm personally excited for it. It's just something new in a genre we don't get much of.

I'd be just as excited if someone came out and said they were making a triple A game where you play as a werewolf. It just really doesn't happen often.
