Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

He can endure cyberpsychosis because he was already a psychopath but that's not at all how it works in game and in lore, you're suppose to have heaps of humanity to have any significant cyberware on you let alone if you're gonna fully borg out.
There's an example character from the main 2020 book who isn't cyberpsycho, but is instead just plain psycho and was even before cybernetics.

Smasher isn't the only one. Just the best-funded one.

As to Smasher's loyalty, he's loyal to the boss. And that's all the boss cares about.

I really dislike Adam Smasher as a character, and no it's not because he killed the Loli or whatever. He reeks of "Oh Sea Donut Steel" even in the tabletop. He pretty much goes in the face of everything in the game, both rule and lore wise.

The world is suppose to be highly deadly where if you're dead, you're fucking dead, but Smasher (as per lore) has a bunch of back up bodies and save ups of his brain hanging around if one of him ever gets destroyed.

He can endure cyberpsychosis because he was already a psychopath but that's not at all how it works in game and in lore, you're suppose to have heaps of humanity to have any significant cyberware on you let alone if you're gonna fully borg out. Your humanity (interpret that as you will) is the only thing keeping you tethered to reality, but if you start with no humanity then you just go wacky right away. It even goes against the new fluffed up version of cyberpsychosis, because any existing mental conditions simply compound your cyberpsychosis, they can't block or replace it.

According to the anime at least ( and even in the Cyberpunk 2077 game to some degree) he is very resistant to hacks, despite that's suppose to be the one vulnerability to full on borg characters and he is never shown to be some super genius net runner who can counter hack on the fly.

Arasaka who prizes discipline, obedience and loyalty above all somehow decides to keep around a guy who has a history of being undisciplined, disobedient and not loyal to anyone, not only that but they put him in charge of protecting the head of Arasaka.

They know they can get away with it now that all the gaming shills-i mean completely ethical journalists are back to sucking their cocks. So why wouldn't they? Your best hope is it doesn't exceed 10 bucks.
Smasher just has OP character syndrome: the writer thinks just because they can create nuclear fart clouds with no downsides means they're interesting. Usually prevalent in anime and manga than it is in any western story. Though they often occur in tabletop when a shitty company writer wants to show off his OC donut steel.

and becca was just petite
i have no idea what this whole loli business is
really short girls exist in real life and they are often crazy

That is because she was referred to as a loli by the studio I'm pretty sure, unless that was fake weeb news
she has 'dick' tattooed to her thigh in neon, jerks off a guy in her intro episode, and pulls a gun on a bouncer when he doesn't let her in a club
also, looks exactly the same a few years later

she's petite
must be an error in translation

Oh i know that. Borging out is a route open to players as well and you can undergo it even without having to number crutch your humanity stat, they knew players would want to go full Inspector Gadgets so the book goes into detail about it and even has special tables for players that go that route. However this takes the form of simply having reduced Humanity Penalties, at no point are humanity penalties thrown out because of you have Chris Chan levels of autism or some shit.

There are two other things i want to point out. First thing is that these scenarios and examples are usually written by different people so these type of small incongruencies tend to be very common in just about all table tops. It is also possible that the scenario was written before cyberpsychosis was properly defined both mechanically and in lore but they already paid the guy to write it so might as well leave it in.

Second thing i want to point out is that characters like Adam Smasher, and most of the "legendary" characters in the tabletop are literally the OCs of the creators when they ran test games during development. They are literally "OC DONUT STEALS" and suffer from the same symptoms.

She's been referred to openly as a Loli by pretty much everyone involved in the project. The reason i believe it though is because she follows loli proportions, specifically her head to height ratio. All the characters seem to be drawn as 7-8 heads tall, which is what your standard "adult" proportions are when drawing. The more imposing characters obviously can go as high as 12 heads tall. Rebbecca is pretty consistently drawn with roughly teenager proportions so between 5 and 6 heads, maybe 6.5 at most.

I heard it's K Dick like Philip K Dick but I'm not sure.
You can barely make out PK DICK if you look at her ref sheet.

This doesn't at all disprove what i said. If you're making heroic characters you draw them around the 6-7 heads tall range. If they're suppose to be "average" you make them more squat and go down to the 5-6 heads tall range. This is basic figure drawing theory that's hammered into you day 1. You can ironically even see this if you look at John Redcorn who has a Head to Height ratio close to 7. If we're sticking to King of the Hill, Bobby is also drawn about a head shorter than adults which is the ratio you'd use when drawing a character in their early teens.

Rebbeca funnily enough is also about a head shorter than all the other "average" adult characters. While sure there are real life people you can find who are adults but have childish proportions, that doesn't matter, because in one case, genetics fucked them over, in the other case it was a willful decision by the artist.

In short it's a simple trick artists use all the time where the visual language purposefully doesn't match what's written. Going back to John Redcorn that's done on purpose where his appearance doesn't match his otherwise shitty personality. In Japan it's used for Lolis and Traps.

I am feeling a cyber itch now.
anno mutationem is on sale atm (has a demo too)

the ascent as well (20h left) - don't worry, it's an official store even ITAD lists.

blade runner is only 8 bucks, but the enhanced version blows. comes with the original that works with scummvm, but that would still give them money for shit work

something more modern:

or just go all out and play snatcher on emulator if you haven't yet:

I forgot about this game.

Is Cyberpunk playable/fixed yet?
It's mostly playable and fixed, yeah. As you can see by the last couple pages, people apparently still have strong opinions on it, but I'd say it's worth it on sale or if you can get it at a steep discount from a key reseller. Or just pirate it since it's DRM-free on GOG anyways.

I doubt it works on base PS4/Xbox One yet, or ever will.

I'm just going to assume most people started playing it on better consoles and being retards forgave CDPR like everyone did with Hello Games and No Man's Sky. That's why you still hear about bugs sometimes but for the most part people are acting like it is "okay" now.

Purely from a PC perspective here.

Is it fixed? Sort of, there aren't any big game breaking bugs that might cause crashing or file corruption, at least that i'm aware, however there's still plenty of bugs to go around.
Is it playable? That depends. If you enjoy open world slop like the type ubisoft releases or Fallout 4, you'll probably have an alright time with Cyberpunk 2077.

Like others have mentioned though ,definitely get it on as deep a sale as possible.

I like Skyrim with mods to make it Morrowind.
