Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

If they fix the boring shit out of the base game, I'll be considerably better-disposed for paying them for the DLC. Otherwise they can suck it. Hacking being "look at person, click butan" was dull, them trying to band-aid patch hacking being an insta-win by having everyone magically know your location was dumb, and there were some ways you could be clever with stealth and positioning, but not very many.

They are apparently doing a gigantic 2.0 update that changes a lot of the systems, supposedly even completely re-doing the skill tree and all the perks. Don't know if they'll change the hacking, though.

I'm not surprised they're adding a Relic skill tree. I mentioned years ago it looked like they had been working on something like that before cutting it since it responds like the other skill tabs when you mouse over it.

That said, I am perhaps most surprised by the fact they're honestly still sincerely committed to the game. We may actually get what was promised in the first place. I didn't expect a bunch of Poles to go for the NMS redemption arc, but I'll be damned if I'm not cautiously optimistic that's what's happening.

Still not fucking preordering anything though.

The mechanics changes will undoubtedly improve the game but for me a lot of the problems came down to the writing, so unless they're also rewriting large parts of the game and adding in new quests I can't see them really 'fixing' the base game, at least as far as I'm concerned. Hopefully the expansion is better in that regard, though with it releasing at the end of September I'll have Baldur's Gate III and Starfield to keep me occupied for months, so I'll have no problem waiting for reviews to see if the 2.0 update and expansion are actually worthwhile.

If the writing and main game plot doesn't change, I too feel no desire to replay through the base campaign. I played it on 1.6 so I feel I got the better first time playthrough experience.

they are going to patch a good story in? thats the only way a fucking dlc should cost 30 fucking dollars
That and replacing Keanu - I get it, he's a Big Movie star despite having the emotional range of this rock I found outside, but he's horribly miscast as the pissed off rock star/terrorist, owing due to him being the most monotone motherfucker there is.

If all of the talk was true and they had someone way better cast before Keanu jumped in, I'd wish they'd just bring that guy in and be like "Unfortunately Keanu wasn't available for more recording so we just re-did everything" like Destiny did with Peter Dinklage.

Hell even Jackie's character and voice actor is better than Keanu. Jackie shouldn't have died in the prologue.

thats the thing, this shitpile history wasnt about V was about Silverhand. And now it will be about Idris Elba.

You know, a core design philosophy in the devil may cry series is that the player can do everything dante does in the cutscenes (they cheat on this twice though if I remember). Cyberpunk would be a lot cooler if V could do the things in the cutscenes. (Or hell, let them do the shit they did in edge runners)

The amount of faggots liking Cyberass 2077 with the Phantom Liberty trailer is proof that gaming has gone downhill, after underdelivering from launch to (barely) still delivering the much "promised" features since that hype train they made.

And I can blame this shit on the hype surrounding that shit a year and a half prior by a bunch of shitty manchildren redditors, but I don't need to. Nay, they are not the reason why Cyberpunk is still being relevant despite being shat on by the time it was released.

Jackie should have stayed around until at the very least mid way though the second act. Killing him off as early as they did was one of the dumbest decisions made in the story imo.
Along with a longer prologue, they should have kept the chip in Jackie's head. The player is the forced to watch their friend slowly go insane as he gets taken over by silverhand.
That would have required CDPR to get really creative and give a shit about the story. From what it sounds like after keanu came in they pretty much threw everything out of the door to focus everything on him. I like keanu in john wick, but thats also because the character was prety much created around the fact that keanu can't act for shit. Every other movie, game, TV show he is in though he usually sucks ass with a few exceptions.
