Cyberpunk 2077 Grieving Thread

That review is pretty brutal and pretty much what I expected.

The problem with the original release, for those who could run it, was that it didn’t feel like an RPG; it felt linear, scripted, and kettled. The Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty update feels no different. This is a straightforward action game with one or two small choices to make. [...] The 20 or so hours I buried into the expansion felt more like I was playing a text adventure as I trawled through hours of exposition. However, my replies made little to no difference to how the actual story played out, and I had very little choice as to how the narrative moved. It felt like I was sitting outside of the game until they had the need for me to shoot some bad guys, and even these moments were few and far between.

EDIT: lol the comments for the review are fucking seething about it "noooo, it can't be bad, other people gave it good reviews!!"

me personally im awaiting the no name tranny influencer to know if its a good game or not

It makes sense that the DLC is an action looter-shooter like the main game. It would have been way too expensive to rewrite and redo the dialogues and the missions of CP2077. Having Silverhand voiced by a Hollywood celebrity was a mistake.

Keane has dialogue for the DLC.

Honestly. from what I've read in the article, this is not going to fix the fundamental problems CP2077 has. The game is just painfully average from top to bottom. The story is average, the world interaction is basic, the characters are painfully basic, the world design is admittedly the best I've ever seen in a video game, but it's just window dressing on top of an abandoned warehouse with nothing in it.

I'll go into autistic detail why I didn't like the story at all at first and even playing through it again modded I still don't like it and I still cannot defend it at all. I know some people will absolutely enjoy this as a Diablo-esque action RPG sort of game, but it's just at odds with what was advertised and how the game aspired to be as you can tell through dialogue options and half-baked mechanics.

CP2077 fans are like domestic abuse victims.

"Maybe he won't come home drunk this time" after the 10th beating.
Seriously, I remember being one of the few assholes in the room before this game came out saying it looked like shit.

So many people had to admit to me through gritted teeth that I was right all along.
